Is that a question? I'm not familiar with the "Vicious Circle Theory".
It's the idea that there's circular cycle to some of these issues. In the case of racial wage gap it'd be something like this:

Poor Neighborhood -> Bad Schools -> Bad Job -> Poor neighborhood etc...

It becomes like a self fulfilling prophecy and it's a hard cycle to break.

You do know there are poor white neighborhoods, right? Does that then mean that there is a racial wage gap for white people?

You should start a new thread describing how oppressed you are.

This points out the crux of the issue. The native americans who were so scary in the past have been totally defanged and marginalized. Now that they are no longer scary people adopt their images to bestow the old power of the enemy on themselves. It's ancient and primal. African Americans are still around as a large group. They've never gone away and they've been able to stay relevant to fight back against words like nigger, buck and boy.

    Casual racism is fun!

Oh, yeah, that. I would think it would have a lot to do with it. A lot of people who are born poor work their way out of it and provide a better life for their children than they had, hopefully breaking that cycle...but a lot don't. Having a better educated society would (hopefully) fix that, at least to a degree. I agree with Latrin's number that he took from the study, 40% of the wage gap is due to education differences...if we could bring even that part of it down to zero, it would do a lot for our society moving forward.
