Jimmy Carter: Opposition to Obama is Racist
Jimmy Carter: Opposition to Obama is Racist
Carter is rendering himself irrelevant. Perhaps he is dealing with his own racial hatreds and using transference as the remedy?
Was the hatred (and I mean hatred) that some people felt against Bill Clinton during his presidency based on racism? Of course not.
There is no doubt that racism exists. There is also no doubt that there will be some people against the current president because of racism. But to state that "an overwhelming portion" of the disagreement with the current president is based in racism is both ludicrous and dangerous.
If any of you disagree strongly with anything that President Obama proposes, or does, are you racist? Does one equal the other?
In my opinion the one does not equal the other. This argument is a Non Sequitur, a common logical fallacy. People can disagree with political policies and beliefs without race even being a factor. To suggest otherwise is foolish.
"I mean th, th, ehh, ...If you think about..., if, if ya, if you think about it, uh, um..., you know, UPS and FedEx are doin' just fine. Right? The uh..., No, they are. It's, it's the Post Office that's always havin' problems." -President Obama
