But a late night text is how he addressed the team? I'm sure he told Notre Dame first and maybe that was their idea to just get him the fuck out asap.. but it was just so awkward.

Notre Dame will go back to being irrelevant to everyone but CBS again.
No, he had an assistant coach out at someone's house recruiting. He walked out and then found out from the news. He said he felt like an asshole. He didn't tell anybody.

The academic standards are lower for LSU, so it is a lot easier to create a great roster. ND's roster has always been 2nd tier, which really goes to show his skill as a coach little more. Or he might just fail terribly.

I think it's more about the $$ than anything else... and I don't blame him.

Eh, that is good too, but I think the main draw is that he has a chance to win National Championships with LSU.

Kinda harder with ND, due to no Conference Championship to play in, not being in a conference, and again, it is harder to build a top tier team.

No question this is about him winning a NC. It would be all but impossible to do so at ND, but it is clearly possible at LSU. Ever since LSU and Orgeron parted ways I have had trepidations about the hire, especially when other schools were locking up coaches, but I am actually pretty excited about Brian Kelly. He runs a good program and with the ability to get better talent since the academics are not so strict, he could be very successful.

Between Kelly coming to LSU, Kirby Smart at GA, Florida's hire of Billy Napier (even though I think firing Mullen was a bad idea), Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss, Jimbo at A&M, a somewhat resurgent TN, and Bryan Harsin at Auburn clearly intends to be relevant again, the SEC is getting a lot tougher. Add in the restructure when Texas and OK come in and Nick Satan might decide it is time to retire. Having to play Auburn, GA and FL every year and possibly an at large opponent from the western division, means he will not be the bully on the block and if there is one thing that is clear about Nick, he hates not being the bully on the block.

Saban is probably looking towards retirement soon. He has nothing left to prove.... NCAA wise that it. The Alabama this year isn't really the powerhouse it has been in the past. Who knows, being completely shut out of the CFP might either push him towards retirement or light a fire in his ass to go for another title.

Looks like ND might be trying to poach Luke Fickell from Cincinnati.

Cincy has gotta have locked up their CFB chances after today. The biggest question is just where does Georgia fall. 4? There's no way the committee is going to let shitty ND into the playoffs are they?
