Default The Democratic Party is a right-wing party

I think some of y'all posting in this politics subforum don't realize just how skewed to the right politics in this country is compared to other countries. The Democrats may be slightly to the left of the Republicans, but they're still a right-wing capitalist party. Left-wing socialists in this country like me are stuck either voting for one of the two major parties that don't represent our views at all, or voting for candidates from the Green Party and other small actually left-wing third parties like the ones listed here:

I'm one of those few weirdos who doesn't use Lich.

You mean the party that effectively destroyed small businesses during the pandemic and allowed large corporations to get even larger and more powerful and made the ultra wealthy even more wealthy doesn't care about the working class like they claim to? Get out of here!

This is why Democrats push identity politics so hard; so people don't realize they are completely fucking them over. Democrat voters have allowed politicians to win office not by promising to make their lives better via more wealth or better job opportunities, but by dividing people as much as possible and focusing on stupid shit like ensuring more black millionaires sit on boards for large corporations.

I look at the world this way.

Our country is the only country in the world with the system we have. There are plenty of other countries using other systems. If the US uses the same system as all the other countries, then we are just those countries.

So - If you like our system of government and the rights you are afforded, excellent. If you do not like our system of government or the rights it affords you, there are other options. Go to one of those.

There is a reason the US is what it is... You think our system sucks?

Our system allows us to prop up the rest of the world. Fuck with that, it won't be good. There is a reason bringing socialism to the US would be an unmitigated disaster.

The fucking media and the elites vying for power keep pushing Americans to feel bad about themselves. Fuck that. We've made mistakes - guess what? All countries have. It's about how much good you do, how many you help, how you try to get better. That is what America is founded on. Pushing forward and getting better.

Socialism is NOT a system that helps people. It crushes them. I could point to history, but I have a feeling that won't matter to you.
