Thread: What Are the Swing States in 2020?

Question What Are the Swing States in 2020?

Realclearpolitics.com has a list, with recent poll averages, of 6 battleground states..
    Arizona
    Florida
    Michigan
    North Carolina
    Pennsylvania
    Wisconsin
They need to update their list. Michigan? Really?

Fivethirtheight.com has a forecast page that lists the 9 closest states, updated at least daily..
    Arizona
    Florida
    Georgia
    Iowa
    North Carolina
    Ohio
    Pennsylvania
    Texas
    Wisconsin
The snake chart on Fivethirtheight.com is an excellent way to take in the status of the race with a quick glance.

CNN's electoral vote map shows 6 battleground states, and they're not the same 6 as Realclearpolitics.com..
    Arizona
    Florida
    Georgia
    North Carolina
    Ohio
    Wisconsin

All three sources agree that the following 4 are swing states..
    Arizona
    Florida
    North Carolina
    Wisconsin

I'm not sure how they draw those conclusions. Every recent poll has given Biden a much bigger lead in Wisconsin than Trump has in Texas, where the polls are basically a dead heat. Yet Wisconsin is considered a swing state, and Texas is not. Texas is one of the closest states in the country. It should be on every list.

Here is something fun. If Trump wins all four of the agreed upon swing states, and the other states go based on recent polling -- Ohio and Georgia to Trump and Pennsylvania to Biden -- then the electoral vote count will be 268 to Biden and 268 to Trump, leaving Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District and Maine's 2nd Congressional District to decide. If those two districts split their votes, then it will be 269 to 269. In case of an electoral vote tie, the House of Representatives gets to decide the winner. But it's not a vote of all House members. Instead, it is one vote per state. And it is decided by the newly elected House that will take over in January, not the House members currently in office. In the event of an electoral vote tie, the House would probably give it the Republican because there are more states with Republican members of the House. The VP is decided by the Senate. It would be possible to have a President from one party and a VP from the other.
There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.

Interesting to see how far Arizona is swinging toward Biden.

Recent polling has shown Trump losing ground with voters over the age of 65. I wonder if that explains the shift.

It's been a long time in the making and you can thank a slew of absolute clowns like Arpaio, McSally, and Ducey. Arpaio The Racist Sheriff cost the state ~150 million dollars in lawsuit settlements, McSally The Unelected Senator is running a confused, negative campaign with no platform beyond being pro-Trump, and Ducey The Incompetent Governor bungled the coronavirus response turning us into an infection hotspot.

I will lol long and hard if we go full blue in November.

One issue is the stupidity of the liberal voter. They flee states like NY, NJ and CA because of high taxes, high crime and high costs of living and move to blue states... then vote the same way they did in the cesspool states they are fleeing.

If you're looking for an example of stupid voters, imagine voters who supported someone who was endlessly flattering to dictators, authorized state-sponsored violence against peaceful protesters and also unleashed state forces to "preemptively" arrest others without charges, intentionally politicized a pandemic that has cost over 200,000 American lives, used the government's Dept of Justice to attack political enemies and play favorites with his personal friends, who refuses to protect the election system from foreign attacks because he thinks it favors him if he doesn't, who attacks the integrity of his own country's voting system, who unleashes political pressure on the government's medical regulatory agency to get them to do things that are against the law and dangerous to his citizens, and who tries to black mail foreign allies into influencing our elections and launching fake investigations against political rivals. Now imagine those same voters are so incredibly deluded that they actually think he's trying to protect their Democracy. Ooof THAT would be stupid.

All hot women need to do is make those anguished moaning noises as they punish themselves on my 8 inch steel-engorged cock. Brains not needed.
