Talking Court Blocks Mary Trump Book

A New York state judge has temporarily blocked the publication of President Trump's niece Mary's new tell-all book, pending the outcome of a hearing set to take place next month.

That's a crazy court ruling. In this country, we don't stop people from speaking or writing. If somebody says something they had no legal right to say, then you sue them for money after they say it. You don't have a court block them from saying it in advance.

The only time a court should block speech in advance is when it endangers national security and the person doing the speaking had an obligation to keep the information secret. That may have been the case with John Bolton's book, which Trump also tried to get the courts to block. Trump was unsuccessful in the Bolton case because the information in the book was already known the public.

Trump has fallen victim to the Streisand Effect.
There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen.

Then they can sue her if she violated it. But they can't use the government to stop her from publishing a book that they believe is in violation of the NDA.

I mean, it aged fine. One judge stopped it, another allowed it to continue. Another judge can still stop it.

So this is the first time in US history that stopped the release of something due to a NDA.

    Good to know.

According to the book, the NDA she signed was based on an agreement about the settlement of Fred Trumps estate. The estate was manipulated by cheeto & crew to devalue it to under 50 mil in order to dodge taxes, increase their gains, and screw the other inheritors out of 95% of the estate. The original value of which, according to the book was close to 1 billion. So, if the agreement she signed was based on an outright fraud, as she contests, the NDA itself would be invalidated which is what her argument is for not being restrained by it. Court case pending.

She signed it to get her money. Now that her money is gone, she came up with a new way to make more.

    She shouldn't have signed it.
