Even by that explanation. It sure sounds and feels like the president's shutdown.
There are enough Republican votes in the House to pass a bipartisan bill to reopen the government and according to multiple people there are enough Republican votes to pass it and override Trump's veto if need be. Trump has no political capital. McConnell knows this. If the House and Senate reopen the government and override Trump's veto he'll be even weaker. For some reason McConnell feels the need to put Trump above the well being of the country and the Republican party.

Or maybe he feels the well being of the country comes from 5 billion for the border. I could turn it around and say the Democrats are the ones being petty.

The government being shutdown for this long is doing far more damage and putting the nation at risk. TSA isn't getting paid. The Coast Guard isn't getting paid. Republicans even blocked attempts to get funding to Homeland Security. Blame Democrats all you want but this isn't on them. Fund a blue ribbon committee to focus on the issue of border security and reopen the government now.

For some reason Pelosi feels the need to put herself above the well being of the country.

We've been kicking this can down the road for as long as I've been a registered voter.

The Democrats AND Republicans use illegal immigration as a wedge and have been for well over 40 years now.

Donald Trump is taking a stand.. which is why he was elected. He's not the type to shy away from tough decisions.

This is what it looks like when you pretend to care but you really don't. Fucking terribly written.

Wrong? I consider border security a fairly big part of the US national security agenda. Drug smuggling, human trafficking, weapons trafficking. All of that. But go on spouting the same useless and fake BS that certain parties in the US don't care about borders, crime, etc.
