How, specifically, was covid-19 "totally preventable"?

My Dad's death was pointless and preventable. And I'm really not looking to wage a political battle over this.

What this country did to it's citizens was most certainly pointless.. and they overplayed their hand and most normal people will never let them try that lockdown bullshit again.
