There certainly are a lot of white supremacist and neo Nazis running for office these days as Republicans. Even Paul Ryan has said it's a big problem that the TOP needs to tackle.

It's just not a comparison at all. Duke won one election in one tiny district and both parties were vocal in their distaste of him. No high profile Republican referred to him as their friend or mentor or had anything good to say about the man.
This is nothing like the secretary of state or the at the time current sitting president heaping praises upon Robert Byrd.
Didn't Trump also disavow Duke's endorsement? Yet somehow Duke proves there is a white supremacist in the White House because he won one election 30 years ago.

He didn't "suddenly" recant. It was a long process that started in the '70s, or maybe earlier if you want to include the date he left the KKK. At one point the NAACP gave him a 100% on his voting record. It's really only the Republicans who can't accept that he changed.
That would be the rest of his post that I didn't include in the quotation. For what it's worth, if Duke decided to change his ways and work for equality, I'd be inclined to forgive him. Also: Where was tgo01 downplaying Duke? He won a tiny election in a tiny district. He lost most of his elections.

Of course it drew national attention.
Also it's kind of bullshit to say he won 50% of "Real Republican" votes. Both candidates were Republicans and yes it was a heavily leaning Republican district, but there were some Democrats in that district who presumably voted, and probably voted for Duke himself since just a few months prior he was a registered Democrat.
Why do you think this in any way compares to Robert Byrd?
Millions of Republicans voted for Trump and he's 10x worse than Duke.
Wow, you are saying south Louisiana had racists in the '80s? Duke's competition was supported by every Republican who was worth a thing.
I guess this retard realized that no one gives a fuck what comes out of his skeevy shitbag mouth and has resorted to low energy trolling.
