There is a federally imposed weight limit of 80,000 pounds, as some of you said, but that limit includes the truck, trailer and cargo. When you subtract out the truck and trailer, there is about 40,000 to 45,000 pounds of cargo capacity remaining for most trucks and 53-foot semi-trailers.
We need to figure in other variables before you can simply claim X number of trucks is right given to you by some "AI" all seeing God.

Most trucks that come into my facility say keep it at 42K or less when loading. Seeing as how things can vary such as cab type and material used in the trailers and so on, we'll just stick with 40K as the max weight limit.

Now we have to take into consideration what year the penny was minted.
After 1983 pennies (copper plated zinc) weigh 2.5 grams.
From 1865 to 1982 (copper) pennies weigh 3.11 grams.

We can't know for sure how many pennies in the this shipment of $500 million dollars will be pre 1983 and post 1983. So we'll do the total of each.

According to Google, there are 453.592 grams in a pound.
Pre-1983 pennies (rounded down) = 145 pennies per pound
Post-1983 pennies (rounded down) = 181 pennies per pound

Next, we need to take into consideration a way to actually store the pennies because we can't simply just push 40K pounds worth of pennies loose into a trailer, it just wouldn't work. The load could shift causing it to be very unsafe for a truck and other vehicles on the road when it is going up/down a steep graded road or hitting the brakes hard. We need containers to store the pennies.

Looking online I find heavy duty plastic totes that hold a max weight of 1,000 pounds. The totes have dimensions of 40"x48"x34" (LxWxH). The totes weigh 60 pounds each. Interior storage of these totes are 29.29 cubic feet.
Google search tells me that 49,152 pennies can fit in a cubic foot of space, we'll round down to 49,000 to keep the numbers a bit more simple.
    49,000 pennies weigh (pre-1983): 337.93 pounds
    49,000 pennies weigh (post-1983): 270.72 pounds
Most pre-1983 pennies we could load in one of these totes that maxes at 1000 pounds = 2.95. Take this times 49,000 = 144,500 pennies
Most post-1983 pennies we could load in one of these totes that maxes at 1000 pounds = 3.69. Take this time 49,000 = 180,810 pennies

Tote filled with 144,500 pre-1983 pennies gross weight = 1056.55 pounds
Tote filled with 144,500 pre-1983 pennies tare weight = 996.55 pounds
(We can technically, based on numbers, add in an extra 3.45 pounds or 500 pennies to hit max 1,000 pounds, giving us a total of 145,000 pre-1983 pennies in a tote)

Tote filled with 180,810 post-1983 pennies gross weight = 1058.95 pounds
Tote filled with 180,810 post-1983 pennies tare weight = 998.95 pounds
(We can technically, based on numbers, add in an extra 1.05 pounds or 190 pennies to hit max 1,000 pounds. Giving us a total of 181,000 post-1983 pennies in a tote)

Standard 53' dry van trailers have interior dimensions of 53' long, 8.5' wide and 9' high.
Max number of these totes you could fit on a 53' van trailer = 90 (if you needed to go 30 deep per layer and stack 3 high)
Seeing as we're filling totes to 1,000 pounds we will only need about 40 totes otherwise we'll exceed the 40K max load weight.

Math-wise, we can fill 37 totes completely in a trailer and then fill one up partially.
    38 totes empty weight = 2,280 pounds

    Pre-1983 pennies
    37 totes gross weight = 39,220 pounds
    37 totes with 1000 pounds of pre-1983 pennies = 5,365,000 pennies
1 partially filled tote = 60 pounds, leaving 720 pounds of pennies to fill it.
    720 pounds of pre-1983 pennies = 104,400 pennies
    104,400 + 5,365,000 = 5,469,400 pennies
Converted to dollars = $54,694 per semi
You will need to have a total of 9,142 (rounded up) semis to haul $500 million worth of pre-1983 pennies

    Post-1983 pennies
    37 totes gross weight = 39,220 pounds
    37 totes with 1000 pounds of post-1983 pennies = 6,697,000 pennies
1 partially filled tote = 60 pounds, leaving 720 pounds of pennies to fill it.
    720 pounds of post-1983 pennies = 130,320 pennies
    130,320 + 6,697,000 = 6,827,320 pennies
    Converted to dollars = $68,273.20
You will need to have a total of 7,324 (rounded up) semis to haul $500 million worth of post-1983 pennies

In all, you would need between 7,324 and 9,142 semis to haul $500 million worth of pennies.

Your "AI" God, Gemini" was the closest, but is still wrong.

"How many semi-trailers would be required to transport $500 million of pennies?"
    ChatGPT - 3
    Claude3 - 62
    Gemini - 6,889
    Pi.ai - 15,625

Rocktar is close to Gemini in reasoning method. The difference is the number of tons they think a semi-trailer can hold. Gemini said a semi-trailer can hold 40,000 pounds, which is half as much as Rocktar said. We need to pin this down. Obviously, we don't want Trump to order an extra 3,000 trailers.
To be fair, not sure how you phrased the question to ChatGPT.. but I asked the same exact question and got a completely different answer... so add "using ChatGPT" to the list of shit you can't do.

Question: how many semi trailers would be required to haul 500 million dollars worth of pennies.

    ChatGPT

To calculate how many semi-trailers would be required to haul $500 million worth of pennies, we need to know the weight of the pennies and the capacity of the semi-trailers.

The weight of a penny is approximately 2.5 grams. Now, let's convert this weight to pounds (since semi-trailer capacities are often measured in pounds):

    1 gram = 0.00220462 pounds
    2.5 grams = 2.5 * 0.00220462 pounds = 0.00551155 pounds

Next, we need to find out how many pennies are in $1. To do this, we divide $1 by the value of a penny, which is $0.01:

    $1 / $0.01 = 100 pennies

Now, we can calculate the number of pennies in $500 million:

    $500,000,000 * 100 pennies/dollar = 50,000,000,000 pennies

Next, we need to calculate the total weight of these pennies:

    50,000,000,000 pennies * 0.00551155 pounds/penny ≈ 275,577,500 pounds

Now, we need to know the capacity of a typical semi-trailer. A standard semi-trailer in the United States can usually carry around 40,000 pounds.

Finally, we divide the total weight of the pennies by the capacity of a semi-trailer:

    275,577,500 pounds / 40,000 pounds/trailer ≈ 6,889.4375 trailers

Since you can't have a fraction of a trailer, you would need approximately 6,890 semi-trailers to haul $500 million worth of pennies.

I would never, ever rely on any fact or conclusion provided by the current version of any of the LLMs.

They also gave Trump an extra 10 days to post the $175 million bond. Since he says he has $500 million in cash, it should be no problem.

If I were Trump, which I absolutely don’t pretend to know what he will do, I’d consider letting NY attempt to seize his assets. Imagine Letifa James boarding up Trump Tower or that golf resort and in the process taking jobs away from hard working people that work in those facilities. Trump stands a good chance of completely reversing the judgement through the appeals process. He has an even greater chance of reducing or eliminating the bond amount pending a stay. He can and likely will get it all back later, and the state will be obligated to pay on the resulting damages.

The greatest “revenge” Trump will have against New York is the damage this has done to the state, which will last for many years long after this whole ordeal. New York has signaled to the entire world through the actions of this court that investing capital & building a business is not safe if you find yourself on the wrong side of their politics. Letitia James campaigned on this promise of going after Trump before she knew of any possible wrongdoing and then applied some arbitrary law meant to protect consumers against him. Everyone knows this is political. If the state can do it Trump, they can do it to anyone.

As I tried to warn, you will likely be disappointed by the outcome. Better luck next time.
