I came to post that because it amused me earlier. I saw that He-Man thing above, and when I got to the "oh my god do I try" part I had a good laugh. Then I watched the video, and so should you.

"Acquired" a google glass headset from our dev team and I've been running around the office playing a skeet shooting game for the last 30 minutes. They finally realized I had them and I had to give them up but my mission for the rest of the day is pretty clear.
Hour and a half walk twice a day is pretty awesome. I'm going to be upset when I go back to work on Thursday. :|

so, I went shopping today--at a "real store" (not a thrift store)--for the first time in, maybe 3-4 years?
I picked out all these clothes in the last size I remember buying. Turns out, I was about 4 sizes off (too high!). So, that's cool.
I also bought a swimsuit for the first time in I don't even know how long. The last suit I recall purchasing was in FL, when I was 16.
bitches love pink swimsuits
My blind dachshund used to attack those whenever she ran into them. We don't have any in the new house so she doesn't have to fear being attacked by the spring beasts.
Ice cream cake, cupcakes and Boston Cream Pie (Oh my!)
I am sorry your dachshund is blind =(. That makes me a sad person. I will now crosspost this to the things that made you frown today thread. Way to go ANTICOR. GOD.
She's blind and I'm pretty sure she can't smell but she can hear. She does just fine as long as you don't leave too many obstacles on the floor or rearrange the furniture. She's been like that for several years, birth defects as a result of selective breeding for specific coloring, she's one of our 4 (current) rescues.
God don't tell me these things! I can't stand people that do that stuff to animals =((. Argh!
Here you go Jack:
This is why people should never breed to try and get a piebald double dapple, cute as hell but the risk is you're pulling forward too many recessive traits:

Have always liked wiener dogs. I'm not sure how true it is, but don't they tend to have spinal problems? Personally I'm a lab fan, if you can put up with the smell and the shedding, they are such a great breed.
No idea what you're talking about:

I need a RESPECT FIST gif for Anticor to + him for being a rescuer. I can't green him for a while. Heh. And I have a dachshund. His name is Jaxon. He's in LA right now, being a seeing-eye dog for a blind pit bull who's got cancer and is near death. So this is sad for me! Ah well. Life sucks sometimes.
So for a few years now I've been neglecting a little sidewalk on my property; never cleaned it, let grass grow in the joints, sprinklers were hitting it for over a year before I realized just how hard the water is here. I thought all hope for this sidewalk looking good again was lost.
Attachment 6633
But then I bought some joint sealer, some cleaner, some acid etcher, some bonding stuff and some stain and went to work. I am quite pleased with the result.
Attachment 6634
Attachment 6635

I can hardly believe it's the same sidewalk.
Only thing I'm not sure of is if I should seal it as well. Everywhere I've been reading says if I used a semi-transparent stain I should seal it afterward but no one seems to recommend this if you use a solid stain...which is what I used. I'd hate for this to start fading and failing prematurely.
Rat terriers are pretty cool.

Behr solid concrete stain.
Some people are saying this product sucks and starts peeling after a few days/weeks but I'm hoping they just didn't follow the instructions well enough. People always seem to think they know more than the people making the product.
Did you try pressure washing it first?
Yup! Pressure washing got rid of almost all of the black/brown stains that were probably caused by mold or dirt. It made the rust stains slightly better...but not by a whole lot.
Honestly the sidewalk looked pretty gosh darn good just by cleaning it with a cleaning product but there were still some visible rust stains so I figured I'd stain the whole thing to have a more uniform look.

ok, follow up. my cousin posted the link on Facebook and according to one of his friends, there are rice cookers with a cake setting. Being Azn, I've grown up with many different rice cookers, from the standard one to my grandmother's enormous banquet one, I've never seen one with a cake setting.

I was going out with an Afghani girl for a while. The waiters at my favorite Mexican restaurant tried to speak to her in Spanish and she got offended about them thinking she was Mexican. I laughed quite a lot about it. This might be why that relationship didn't last long.

I was driving back from the bar, there are two lanes, both can go straight, but a right turn signal appears for the right lane. There was one vehicle infront of me and he had his right turn blinkers on, so I honked figuring he didn't see it. He yelled a bunch of stuff from his vehicle and began tossing all the fast food items he just ordered out the window. There were two other cars in the left lane that start honking because he did this. Much rolled down window laughter ensued. I love when we collectively get together and make someone feel stupid for being stupid. He turned off his blinker and jetted forward when the light turned green.
The position I interviewed for last month opened back up after the restructure, as the manager and myself expected. They called and extended an offer, I accepted.
Thanks this should be a good next step but it is still very weird. I've never quit a job and I've never looked for a job while I had one so I'm still working through that aspect of it. New position has a pretty big pay increase, much better career path, much better benefits, etc. Good luck on that interview Whirlin, be sure to print out some guides and take them with you to show off.
That's because you are a good man.
Ethics are a bitch.
edit: not that there is anything unethical about changing jobs but still, it's not like you'd enjoy leaving.
Whirlin's Guide to Quitting:
1) Start a Sorc guide.
But in all seriousness... You can't think about this as a personal interaction between you and your co-workers. This is an interaction between yourself and the company you work for. They have not provided adequate incentive to you in terms of work-life balance, compensation, and respect for you to feel adequately challenged and engaged to proceed with a relationship with the company.
This is a known risk that is managed and calculated by employers. They acknowledge that every time they give you a tiny marginal salary increase to reflect inflation. Every year that goes on without a promotion is simply accumulating the risk of the employee leaving. In a company's eyes, employee turnover is a natural way to keep costs down.
Why should you hold them in higher esteems than they hold you? You're worth more. That's been documented objectively by the new company. Your current company didn't incentivize adequately to care about the longer-term prospects. We don't have the defined benefits packages of our grand-parents. If they wanted to keep us there forever, they'd offer them.
It's just like managing relationships, except you're never locked into marriage. As soon as something better comes along, you jump on it.
Sign the new paperwork, go through the background/drug testing/whatnot. Get your new start date. Give your two weeks notice, and make sure you have a week or two off buffer between your last date and start date. Then enjoy your time off, loralaii your woman, Tgo01 your lawn, Whirlin up a guide, and light something on fire.
Once in five years and I think I'm the only one that's had a raise in those five years.Quote:

What turn over? Average time someone has been here is 27 years...and I think that's the problem they all just do what they do and don't really drive to go forward so promotions, new roles and responsibilities, etc.Quote:

Already committed there, once I decided I was looking that sealed it. As for setting stuff on fire I had a huge bonfire over the weekend...I guess I can find an excuse to do another one.Quote:

That's the thing I really don't want to leave for any other reason than I know I can provide more for my wife and kids. I enjoy what I do and I enjoy the people I work with...but I've got to take care of my wife and boys. This opportunity came to me, I entertained it and now it's coming to fruition.
It's still computer nerd shit but at the end of the day it pays the bills and allows me to spend time out in my wood shop.

This morning I told my boss I accepted a position with another company. She was upset at the loss for the company but happy for me, we talked for about 20 minutes and it went well. I let her know I'd be here for the next three weeks and I was all here until I'm all gone so that the transition would have as little impact as possible. I think I've got a few weeks of vacation but eh I'd rather make sure my customers and my team are taken care of when I leave.
Glad it went well! It is something something you've stated having/had mixed feelings about, and it's nice to see that your boss could be happy for you.
Sounds like you're leaving the best way possible, I'm sure your coworkers appreciate it.
Congrats again on the new job!

and she was hopping around the PVC pipe that extends past the porch so the sump pump can drain. It sounded like there was a baby bird stuck in the pipe or something. Chirping and other high pitched noises.
I finally got up to go take the pipe off the drain and see what it was when the sumppump came on and flushed the chipmunk out almost onto my feet.
He scampered back and hid between the bilco doors and porch wall.
It was pretty funny. I wish I had recorded it.
My dogs kill those ground squirrels by the bunches. Although this weekend Cash switched it up and brought a baby bird in and dropped it on the couch.

Related Story:
So, my fiancee and I have three indoor cats. One of them is always super eager to get outside... we constantly need to watch him.
However, one day a few weeks back, he got outside. This has happened before, it usually takes him about an hour to get scared and want to sneak back inside.
We see him make a mad dash across the yard and jump down this 8 foot stone wall. We usually don't see him take off quite like that. We both take a look at eachother and go back to gardening.
No more than 30 seconds later, he jumps back up the 8 foot wall, carrying a squirrel that he brings back to the front door. He was outside for a total of about 60 seconds, and he had already tracked, killed, and brought back a squirrel. We were impressed with his kill speed, given the fact that he's an indoor cat.
My cat doesn't really have teeth and I clip her nails cause she has weird paws and her nails sometimes poke her in the pads. She probably can't kill anything... Just gum it.

Not bad, if I do say so myself, and I do.
Especially considering neither of us had ever painted walls before.
Before it was this disgusting taupe/orange/brown color on the gable and columns, navy on the wall-top-thing and a built-in bench, and red (still red) on the floor, brown on the beams... it was horrible.
Nice scheme, fresh!
As long as you have the paint out, why not make the Safe Harbor sign a double sided arrow? I think that would be a nice touch. :)
The sign points toward the door into the house, it would be pointing at the neighbor's house if I made it double sided.

I'm not familiar with the Byzantine guy so I can't say.

(CNN) -- Who needs Fourth of July fireworks when you have Joan Rivers around?
The comedian known for her lack of self-censoring recently officiated a same-sex wedding and was asked by a photographer if she believed the United States would ever see the first gay or female president. Her response was typical Rivers.
"We already have it with Obama, so let's just calm down," she said. "You know Michelle (Obama) is a trans."
When asked to further explain Rivers said, "A transgender. We all know it."

Rivers is no stranger to controversy. In March 2013 she refused to apologize for a joke she made about the dress "Project Runway" host Heidi Klum wore to the Academy Awards.
