Video of a cop using his vehicle to ram a criminal on foot. I'm not against the cop here per say, but it definitely isn't standard protocol to use your cruiser to take down a suspect on foot. Dude was walking down the street with a rifle, though.

He'd already shot the rifle in to the air once as he was walking, so that definitely puts him into the "not sure what the hell he's going to do next" column. I'm no police expert, but I'd assume standard protocol would be to stop a certain distance away, draw a weapon, and order the suspect to the ground, leaving the officer or any bystanders susceptible to gunfire. So in that case, an officer using his vehicle as a way to subdue the suspect quickly and thereby reducing the possibility of more gunshots from the suspect seems within the realm of prudence.
