Well that's strange, because every time someone mentions what a shithole Chicago is and how the gun crime there is insane despite tight gun control laws and just about all (if not all) gun stores in the city have gone out of business, Democrats will always scream "But that's because people are buying guns in surrounding areas and bringing them into Chicago!"

Which not only kind of defeats their argument that you can stop a bad guy from obtaining a gun, but also highlights the fact that Chicago is a shit hole because of Democrat policies, not because of guns, because if guns were the issue then these surrounding areas where the guns are being bought would have much more crime than Chicago does because those areas don't have tight gun control laws.

I’m talking on a country level, not a state level.
Yes, many countries have banned guns, and it’s literally impossible to buy them or import them. So yes, it can be done.

It is not impossible, just illegal. As it is here in the US.

This is one of those situations, where I weigh the value of human life in the millions - not in the sad, unfortunate situations that result in less than 30,000 deaths.

Don't get me wrong, I empathize and wish those deaths did not occur... but allowing full government control of it's populous is something history has shown us leads to more deaths than most can imagine.

I’m not saying it’s legal or illegal, morally correct or not. Not stating we should or shouldn’t do it. Just stating, that it can be done. And to say it can’t be done is stupid.
