Call from my best friend that her mom passed away.
Was not entirely unexpected, but I wish I wasn't so sucky at handling these things. I told her I was very sad to hear that and asked her how she was and if she needed anything, but I don't know what else to do or say.

Are you able to talk about this at all? I'm pretty confused. I'm guessing the obvious bio-lab implications or something, but I'm not ruling out some type of horrible SB apocalyptic future that this may or may not be portents of. Are you specifically not expecting the monkeys to die and they they (for some unknown reason) are? Or does it just suck that you have to kill monkeys.Quote:

Testing the protection 50% of an IND drug will provide, along with the protection each of the two compounds which make up the drug will provide seperately. 5 NHPs per group, plus 5 controls. So, 5 should die, and hopefully 3 from the main drug, and 3 from one of the two components. Apparently, everyone but 3 from the main drug is good too, but meh. I don't like this manner of study.
