My 6 year old has 5 sight words a week that she has to learn. Each week we work on the words and each week she fails the test because of the way the test is given. They want her to look at the word on the paper and tell them what the word is, she only responds to you saying the word and then she'll point the word out. She obviously knows what the words are but they refuse to work with her on this issue. I think she just doesn't like being put on the spot and clams up. It's so damn frustrating.
