Do you never not have problems?

I spent about 10 hours this weekend working on the Ice Dams. Finished one of four rooflinesover the weekend. Got frostnipped in the process though (consider it a Tier 1 sunburn... but for frostbite).
Gotta do the high roofline next... Get to break out the 40ft extension ladder for that one. Fortunately, we bought a propane flamethrower for that one, which I couldn't use on the first roofline... cause different pitches.
I plan on installing the heating wires next year to remediate the issues.
While insulation helps... If you have frost dams, it typically implies that your roof sucks. If you add insulation, you'll only need to remove that insulation before you redo your roof. Unless it's a storage/crawl space, where you can just place more insulation in the floor. That's fine.

You're doing it wrong. It's all about the insulation and air flow. Tube socks, fill with ice melt stuff, on strings. Throw those babies to the top, tug on the string til it gets to the edge of the roof. No flamethrowers, no chipping. No danger.

I'm not sure either, because I'm just sharing what happens to me day to day like anyone else. I'm sorry if you all find my posts to be self-centered, I'm sure this is very difficult for you all to handle. Unfortunately, I'm going to continue to post what makes me smile, frown, laugh, or anything else when I want to, I will absolutely not be offended if any of you decide not to read the posts, as this is the internet and you can choose what information you decide to read and not read.
