Most of you who know me know my human, but I'd rather not share completely.;) Here is her outfit. I going to be doing a new one for her soon.
You see Lady XXXXX the Gleewoman.
She appears to be a Human from Jantalar.
She appears to be young and sprightly and shorter than average. She has long-lashed jade green eyes and ivory skin. She has long, silky ebon hair that cascades to her waist in elegant spirals. She has a heart-shaped face and rosy cheeks.
She has some chased rose gold hoops dangling with tiny diamonds in the ridges of both her ears, a bejeweled silver stud in her right nostril, and a small rosebud tattoo on her neck.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a fringed sheer black silk head-scarf, an ornate musical note locket, a raven-hued spidersilk cloak stitched with small silver treble clefs, a silky gossamer bodice laced with silvery rhimar-tipped cords, some fitted ruby-trimmed brigandine, a pair of thin black ribbon wristlets, a ruby-studded hip-belt adorned with filigreed invar bells, a graceful black ruffled skirt, a pair of black silk fishnet stockings, and some delicate crystal slippers with gossamer ankle ties.

Beautiful patterns seem to flow smoothly over the note, as if caught in the streams of musical harmony. Carved neatly on the back of the locket is the name, "xxxxx, Bard Extraordinaire." In tiny letters further down on the back is the name, "Uxbri Foresttarts."

Tiny faceted red rubies and silver trim accent the lines of the finely-crafted armor. Designed to accentuate the figure, it fits snugly, moving fluidly with the body of the wearer. Embroidered in crimson thread along the breastplate are the words, "Alas for those that never sing, but die with all their music in them." You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.
I wouldn't like that outfit if she wasn't a Bard. But she is. So nice outfit!Quote:

Overrobe: Delicately shimmering silk strands have been woven loosely into the fine, nearly transparent gauze which comprises this light and airy garment. The fluidity of the fabric allows the robe to mold the wearer's silhouette, and when the material is in motion, it creates an illusion akin to the appearance of softly falling rain.
Bliaut: Finely pleated copper silk of a faintly iridescent sheen makes up most of this bliaut. Golden silk edges the neckline before descending down the front and winding about the garment's waist, smoothing the silhouette. Shimmering, couched gold leaves swirl over the garment as if caught on a breeze, collecting at the hem of the skirt and bell sleeves.

Lengths of vibrant silk in varying hues of earthy brown, ruby red and jade green twine together in a slim cord, attached by a narrow bead of moonstone to the right shoulder and the bicep.

I've been in bed sick all day and I only noticed the time ten minutes ago! I demanded my boyfriend get me the laptop so I could remain in bed and attend the event. Unfortunately, I didn't move Strata from EN to Landing in time for it so I'm sending a substitute.
Don't blame me for her intensely subjective last line feature alter. It is not my fault and although it's unlikely I'll be taking her to another pay event, where there'd be the greatest opportunity to change it, if I do get the chance, it'll go.

This tiny garden niche provides an oasis from busy city traffic. A few small trees lend shade to the polished granite bench that rests underneath. Shrubs and flowers have been placed strategically, their colors blending together in perfect harmony. In the center of everything resides a large granite fountain, its clear blue water falling in intermittent gusts and sprays. WTF is tussah?
Tussah Tussah silk, often called shantung, is made from the cocoons of wild tussah silk worms that eat oak and juniper leaves -- their "natural" food. Because the worm isn't grown in a controlled environment, the moth hatches from the cocoon thus interrupting the filament length and making the fibers short and coarse instead of long and lustrous.
Tussah silk is difficult to dye and most often available in its natural color, a creamy tan. Because of its irregular slubs and the fact that it ravels easily, tussah should be dry-cleaned. It is a good choice for traveling as it doesn't wrinkle easily.

But plate worn for armor would have all sorts of padding, it wouldn't be metal to skin contact. Besides, with full body coverage, how would you see his other clothes?
I know. It seems the whole plate-pants debate is a matter of opinion. I still feel that you need some sort of leggings, pants, etc worn on the char even if you're wearing full-coverage armor. And then there are those who don't see it that way. I just thought I'd poke the bear.

I would say he probably doesn't need shoes in that getup. Pants are debateable (obviously) but a tunic/surcoat is a nice touch.
I always assume, when people are wearing plate, that they're wearing padding/pants/shirts underneath. With my brigandine I always try to describe in the show descriptions the gambeson layered behind it.
I mean, the way I see it what's to say that Issi isn't wearing anything under her poofy ball gowns? Just because you can't see the corsets and chemises and skirts for volume doesn't mean they can't be there.
Eh, I just really don't care what the hell people wear with plate. As long as they are wearing something to cover themselves...plate would be very concealing anyway.

This tunic-like garment is made of a fine matte white silk and has been tailored to fit closely to the frame of the wearer. Pristine white fox fur creates a plush lining throughout, as well as a attractive trim along the edge of the hood.

Twelve in all, the slender and petite dark ora bangles are waxy grey in hue with charred streaks of black that curl around their smooth surface. Beads of olivine faenor-blooms and ebon-veined malachite are strung in an alternating pattern upon each bangle.
Cincher:
Sixteen thin slats of faenor plate are laced with viridian ribbons to bind them into a decorative cincher. Slender crescent shapes dimple the dark green-veined metal to give it a beaten appearance, while thin copper wire laced through the upper edges of each plate dangle malachite beads. The bindings of the piece are in the front and fashioned of thin ribbons that are decorated in beads of both faenor and malachite.
boots:
Supple suede forms the long panels of these soft boots, dark and richly dyed. Crescent-shaped eyelets made of dark faenor run from ankle to mid-thigh on the outer facing and are laced with viridian-hued rawhide strips. A delicately rolled cuff gives a brief glimpse of a homespun lining of linen the same shade of green as the laces.

Three rows of razor-sharp barbs, their tips stained with a dark incarnadine substance, line the manacle's interior while a spring-hinged clasp has been designed to fasten quickly and tightly, pinching any skin caught within.

Sturdy layers of un-dyed raw silk sewn together into a single sheet of fabric form the entirety of this burnoose. The only hemming and cutting has been done around the edge of the garment, pale thread finishing off the loose bottom hem and the wide hood. A thin, turquoise-linked copper chain is sewn securely from the top center of the hood down to the center of the shoulders, where a bright jade tassle hangs from the end down the back. A coiled jade serpent pin clasps the burnoose in the front.

The soft and pliable kidskin of this cloak, amber in hue, gleams with weather-proofing oils that lend it a slightly iridescent sheen. Cut and sewn to allow room for maximum movement with hidden panels of fabric and cleverly aligned seams, the inside of the cloak is lined with pale quilted cashmere. In place of a hood, the top of the cloak forms into a cowl deep enough to be pulled over the head, and a series of toggles inside allows for easy opening or closing.

Evenly spaced dots of a deep indigo form intricate lines criss crossing sharply across the bronze skin, forming a permanent garrote around Basra's neck. Vertical dotted lines splay outward from the each point of intersection, extending down to just grace the collarbone.

Rough linen gauze of a mottled, murky grayish-blue hue folds against itself, creating a long scarf suitable for wrapping around the neck or being pulled up across the face. Darker threads of cobalt highlight the natural fibers of the rough-weave linen in places that collected more indigo during the dying process. The scarf darkens in places where the blue fabric doubles back on itself, betraying hidden pockets amidst the thin layers.

A bracer of mithril frames the bottom edge of either glove before disappearing underneath, evidently running along the underside to form a protruding skeletal frame beneath the thin lizard skin. Scuffs mar the surface of the faded grey leather, the scratches showing white against the cracking leather to indicate exposure to harsh weather. Thick straps hold the oblong leather bag into a rolled position, running over bands of smooth charcoal that betray once-pristine origins. Several loops of various sizes hang off from the straps, perfect for securing potions and flasks that might prove too delicate to be tossed carelessly inside.

The fabric of this scarf is woven of fine linen. Though simple in design the craftswoman who made this was an artist in her own right. The copper beading takes on an intricate pattern, at first seemingly random, and yet the longer it is considered the more complex and ordered it becomes.

No more than half an inch wide, these battered beads alternate between smooth bright copper orbs and ophidian carved malachite, their surfaces worn smooth by countless reverent touches of devotion. Strung from the center, an ornately wrought ivory talisman of an asp appears to devour its tail. Fashioned from a dark hued emerald, the snake's eye flashes viridian fire when struck by the faintest light.

Blending style with function, the corselet is fashioned of umber hued yierka hide. Hammered copper scales have been attached to the hide and flow seamlessly together over the front and back like the skin of a snake. The sides are tooled with an ophidian pattern which slithers around each of the copper grommets that have been laced up with sturdy strips of sinew.

The ring is petite and is made to fit a slender finger. Oxidation has taken place between the intricately wrought scales, leaving a verdant hue and giving dimension to the polished surface of the scales. The ring is fashioned to look like an asp devouring its tail. Its cold, cruel stare is fashioned from two small emeralds which flash viridian fire when hit by the slightest light. Etched across the back as a stern reminder are the words "None for myself, all for The Great Serpent."

Strung on two thin black suede laces are several rectangular porcelain tiles, designed to lay flat up against the throat. Each tile is a fine example of silver-lined cloisonne, depicting a thistle blossom enameled in tones of pale amethyst with highlights of inlaid eahnor in proceeding stages of opening, until in the final tile it is in full bloom.
Eventually I'll change the case so it's not just a "bow" case. I thought these would have scripts for putting your bow in there, but they are basically just a container. = (

A heavier sable silk lines the interior, providing weight to the ethereal garment.

Long ebony velvet sleeves provide a further contrast in color with blush rose ribbon trim at the tapered wrists as well as the hem of the skirt panel. Several small gathers at the fitted waistline drape down to form a box-pleated hem, giving the skirt lift and fullness.

Anarquendi shows you a weathered sylvan overcoat, which he is wearing. Years of exposure to the elements have taken their toll on this overcoat. Parched by sun and wind, the leather has begun to crack in several places. Sewn onto the left shoulder is a sun-bleached patch indicating the rank master archer of the Tyesteron D'ahranal. Stitched upon the right shoulder is a faded patch bearing the title expert marksman with the name "Aldudil" worked into an intricate design of ivy vines. Although ravaged by time, the overcoat will hold up for years to come.

You look closely at Vivaldi, examining an old notched farmer's scythe. What used to be a perfectly forged weapon of war has been reduced to the life of a dusty old farm tool. Once mighty, the rolaren blade is badly notched and coated with splatters of green and brown. A spiral of softened canvas stitched with crimson farming runes wraps the battered ironwood haft, offering its owner some modicum of protection from splinters. The only other adornment is a tiny vaalorn turnip cap bolted at the bottom of the shaft.
You look closely at Vivaldi, examining a dusty wide-brimmed hat. Coated with a thin layer of dust, this cleverly woven straw hat is designed to protect from the rain and sun. A ring of etched runes encircle the hat just above its wide brim. Protruding from beneath the band at a jaunty angle is a long golden pin, tipped with a cleverly carved mithril turnip.
Vivaldi shows you a scratched silvery vaalorn star, which he is wearing. Strung on a sturdy leather cord, the once-shiny metal is now so marred that the surface is barely reflective. The fluffy fronds of some sort of plant emerge near the top of the star's five points, and below, the words, 'in recognition'... but the rest of the etching is indecipherable.
Vivaldi shows you a patched canvas longcoat, which he is wearing. Mostly canvas, this garment has been repaired numerous times with bits of leather, oilcloth, burlap, and other weather-resistant materials. Threads of black, brown, and stained grey meander over the fabrics, binding them together with irregular but sturdy stitching. A lining of faded crimson and blue flannel is the only intact portion, besides the six scratched vaalorn buttons arranged in an almost-straight line along the front. A simple hood offers additional protection from the elements.
Vivaldi shows you a disheveled cotton shirt, which he is wearing. This loose shirt has certainly seen better days. Once white, or maybe cream, constant exposure to dust has taken over and tinted the fabric a dinghy fawn. Interesting splotches of purple and green further the degredation of the original color. Small vaalorn buttons shaped like tiny turnips fasten the front of the garment, though the top one is missing and the second is hanging by little more then a thread. A patch of canvas whipstitched over the left side of the chest serves as a makeshift pocket.
You look closely at Vivaldi, examining some dusty canvas trousers. Fastened with a buckle in the shape of a golden fist clutching a turnip, these trousers have several pockets sewn along the legs in a haphazard fashion. Various odds and ends poke out of the one untorn pocket, one looking strangely like a turnip top.
You look closely at Vivaldi, examining some dusty canvas workboots. Strong canvas material lines the inside of these workboots, giving protection from the wear and tear of the field, and their sturdy vaalorn mesh and spiked tread enable the wearer to brave even the roughest of terrains. Crimson runes of farming run down the sides, and the barely visible image of a tiny plow, with the words "You've been planted by the Farmer" is scrawled on each heel.
That is commitment to a theme!

Tiny round flecks of diamonds dot the floral scene, adding a lavish touch, while a cloth-of-silver ribbon rims the entire fan.

Etchings of initials are inscribed clockwise around the very edge of the medallion. A heavy, looped red velvet cord is attached to the very top.

This delicate ring, sized to grace the slender finger of a feminine hand, appears to be a hollowed, yet seamless, carving from a clear crystal. Within the ring is a deep purplish-crimson liquid, looking to be the precise color and consistency of blood. The pale elven characters and tiny deciduous tree engraved upon the inside of the band stand out in stark contrast to the dark contents.

She is wearing a silvery grey orchid tucked behind one ear, a polished mistwood bow case, a dual-layered pale blue linen surcote trimmed with snow fox fur, a crystal amulet, a misty grey cotton tunic with long pointed sleeves, a braided leather arm-wrap, an ora-clasped mistwood case, a dense natural cotton skirt overlaid with mithril-beaded organza, and a pair of snug calf-length wrapped leather boots.
All but the mistwood case, tattoo, cinqueda and the flower were designed by Uniana's player because I can't seem to come up with good designs for this character for some reason! She did an excellent job and I'm very happy with it.
Mistwood case:
Finely grained mistwood, sanded to a smooth perfection, is lacquered heavily to protect the naturally light wood from the elements. A lining of bleached cotton protects its contents and a rounded, teardrop-etched shard of ora serves as the clasp.
You glance at your arm-wrap. Thick leather strands are artfully braided together to form a sheath of hide that is meant to cover from wrist to elbow. Small tuffs of white fox fur are barely visible within the wrap, which provides little protection from anything other than the elements. At the wrist edge of the wrap is a single loop of leather purposed to hold a small item, such as a dagger, securely in place.
You pull a bronze-hilted crimson eahnor cinquedea from your arm-wrap.
Left in its natural state, the crimson eahnor blade of the cinquedea is broad at the base and tapers to a fine point. Along its length, a trio of grooves have been roughly engraved, leaving ragged trails which terminate at the guard. The cross, a textured fist of flexed dark bronze claws, arcs over the base of the blade to sink talons into the eahnor. At the grip, the bronze of the guard thins to narrow bands that coil to form the hilt and, at the base, clasp a bloodjewel teardrop in their twisted cage. A faint aura of holy light radiates from the cinquedea.

You remove a dual-layered pale blue linen surcote trimmed with snow fox fur from your shoulders.
Removing your surcote uncovers your tattooed mark.

Scarred tissue, filled with an deep black ink, provides a macabre frame for a dark crimson teardrop. Ash grey highlights have been drained into the ebon black ink, creating shadows and depth to further the image of a brand against her skin. A small scar runs a jagged curve around the teardrop, giving an eerie coral highlight to the crimson hue, while a slender chain of black links holds the teardrop captive within its scarred prison.

She is wearing a silver-strung misty crystal crescent, a pair of spidery silver spectacles, a high-collared grey twill jacket, a wasp-waisted charcoal brocatelle corset accented by ethereal grey arabesques, a formal grey organza skirt, and some black flare-heeled boots.
Spectacles are old, jacket is off the shelf (I think) and only holds large. Boo. Corset is reversible, I had it made at Ebon's. All designs are mine.
Crescent/Star Tat - A small, round field of black has been inked to encompass a silver moon and a series of six little stars. The argent crescent rests against the curve of the dark circle, detailed with myriad of craters, while the pinpricks of silver highlighting the other celestial bodies have been arranged in a familiar spring constellation. The word 'Handmaiden' is scrawled in flowing midnight blue script beneath the miniature scene.
Fidelity Knot Tat - Reminiscent of dusk's shifting color, the lover's knot conceals a single name in the shelter of each curve. "Vivaldi" appears, washed the faint purple of a turnip's hue, twisting against the loop where "Wariquan" is limned with vivid midnight blue. "Astranged" in shades of sea and sky arcs across the intense black-purple of "Tah'lon", the four colors bleeding to twilight grey at their intersection. The rich merlot of "Shiril" is nearly lost in the shadows that linger at the juncture of the braided lines.
Crescent (Crystal amulet holder)- Twin chains of glimmering silver have been fashioned to drape over the wearer's hair, dotted with dainty clips to keep them from slipping out of place. At their zenith dangles a faceted crystal crescent moon, arranged to be suspended in the center of the forehead. The planes of the small charm glitter enticingly, its interior swirled with foggy grey.
Skirt - Cut to fit tightly against the hips, then flare widely at the hem to trail the floor, this layered silk organza skirt is a study in austere grace. With multiple underskirts and two starched tulle petticoats of a darker hue to give it flounce, the garment swishes softly whenever moved. Stiff strands of silver cording lace the skirt from behind.
Boots - Crafted from fine black leather, these knee-high boots are tightly laced through a multitude of silver hook and eyes and grommets. Slightly irridescent thread of a rich dark purple has been used to embroider the image of a blooming rose just above the tall uncomfortable-looking hourglass heels.
That knot tattoo is TIGHT. I'd really like to know the story behind it.
