Wouldn't have to be here had Biden not suspended sanctions against it on arrival. It's highly unlikely that any of this goes well at all.
Is it a "we" problem or a "European" problem?
It would really help us understand the Democrat view of whether we spend less on military or more on military. So far, there hasn't been a Democrat mention drawing down our defense spending to pre-Obama Afghanistan levels.
And again you're implying our country has an obligation to unilaterally decide the political and security decisions of independent foreign powers. Ukraine is not our ally, we do not have a defense treaty and they're not a member of NATO, so I don't see what our military spending has to do with Ukraine.
Though since we no longer have tens of thousands of active troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, perhaps you might understand our no longer funding the Pentagon as if we had full scale active wars we're participating in. Might.
