A lot of people thought New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez would be a good pick to be the VP for the Republican nominee. Not after this.

Santa Fe police were dispatched to a hotel room occupied by Gov. Susana Martinez's and staffers at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa about 1:30 a.m. Sunday after the hotel complained of loud noises emanating from the room and someone throwing bottles from the balcony.

Santa Fe County dispatchers on Friday released recordings of Martinez talking to dispatchers after the complaint was made. She insisted on knowing who made the complaint and telling dispatchers that police officers were not needed.

A governor's spokesman said there had been complaints that people had been throwing objects from the room's balcony earlier in the evening. But, spokesman Chris Sanchez wrote, the governor was in the hotel ballroom when the objects were thrown and that snowballs, not bottles were thrown.

"Gov. Martinez regrets the way this situation was handled by her and her staff and will further address that later today," Sanchez wrote.

I knew another shoe would drop. There's a new recording. The new recording is from a police officer's belt recorder. In it, the police officer notes that the governor is obviously inebriated.

Seems like a Trump VP qualifier move.

Suppose it would have been better if she was snorting coke with Obama. She could just run for President, skip second place.

You are thinking of Bush doing coke. Obama was for the marijuana.

Nah Obama was snorting the yayo too. Him and Bush probably had the same dealer.

As for Obama and the weed, he was probably shotgunning it out of old Bill's Sax.

Just as I predicted, New Mexico's lady Republican governor with a foreign last name will not be the Republican choice for vice president.

Since Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee, Martinez's name has been floated by a handful of pundits as someone likely to be included on the billionaire's short list.

But Trump's sharp criticism of the Hispanic governor at his campaign rally Tuesday in Albuquerque, N.M.,suggests she might not be an ideal fit for the bottom of the ticket after all.

"Since 2000, the number of unemployed people in Albuquerque has doubled," Trump told the crowd, reading aloud from pre-prepared statistics he recently began carrying with him at his rallies.

"Who's fault is it? Is it your fault or is it your government's fault?" he asked the audience. "Since 2000, the number of people on food stamps in New Mexico has tripled. We have to get your governor to get going, OK? She's got to do a better job."

"Your governor has got to do a better job. She's not doing the job," he said, before joking that "maybe" he'll run for governor of the "Land of Enchantment" if he doesn't make it to the White House. "We've got to get your governor going. C'mon, governor."

Trump continued, this time hitting Martinez over her handling of illegal immigration.

From everything I had read, she was a pretty low probability pick anyhow; like a lot of us, seems she is not a fan of Trump.
