A lot of people thought New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez would be a good pick to be the VP for the Republican nominee. Not after this.
Santa Fe police were dispatched to a hotel room occupied by Gov. Susana Martinez's and staffers at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa about 1:30 a.m. Sunday after the hotel complained of loud noises emanating from the room and someone throwing bottles from the balcony.
Santa Fe County dispatchers on Friday released recordings of Martinez talking to dispatchers after the complaint was made. She insisted on knowing who made the complaint and telling dispatchers that police officers were not needed.
A governor's spokesman said there had been complaints that people had been throwing objects from the room's balcony earlier in the evening. But, spokesman Chris Sanchez wrote, the governor was in the hotel ballroom when the objects were thrown and that snowballs, not bottles were thrown.
"Gov. Martinez regrets the way this situation was handled by her and her staff and will further address that later today," Sanchez wrote.
