View Full Version : SCOTUS fails the people again

In another ridiculous 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court upholds the supposed "spirit" of the law and not the letter of the law. Yet again supporting Obamacare and maintaining the government's right to enslave it's people forcing them to do labor to purchase something they don't want at government set rates. When coal mines and other large companies did this in the last century with the company store, it was heralded as slavery and courts ruled to protect the people from oppressive power. Now that the government it's self is doing the enslaving, the courts have failed us once again. Obamacare is a simple power grab by those who wish to dictate to others with no concern for personal liberty and choice.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/25/politics/supreme-court-ruling-obamacare/

Note, there is no rhyme or reason to the court's decision to flip flop back and forth between the letter and the spirit of the law in decisions. As Chief Justice Scalia argued in a stinging repudiation,
it is not the Court's job to make up for the sloppy drafting of the law by Congress

I guess you can't really blame Congress on the piss poor construction of this law, after all, they didn't really participate in crafting it, they relied on an arrogant MIT jackass who admitted that they were relying on the stupidity of the American public to get it passed. After all, they had to pass it to see what's in it.

Ouch! What a sting! Scalia also called it "Pure applesauce." and made reference to "jiggery pokery" what ever the fuck that means. Hey, Scalia, it's 2015. Ye olden turns of phrase doth have homoured in these modern times!

In an interview with Telemundo -- because he loves Spanish media -- Donald Trump said that Jeb Bush is partly responsible for the nomination of John Roberts to the Supreme Court and, thus, is responsible for Roberts' lawless decision last week to uphold Obamacare for the second time. This issue will dog Bush for the remainder of the primary unless he comes up with a good way to address it.

JOSE DIAZ BALART:

And today the Supreme Court, as you know, said and ruled on the legality of what is commonly known as Obamacare. Your reaction to that and I've seen some comments that you talk about Justice Roberts personally.

DONALD TRUMP:

Well, Justice Roberts is a disaster. He was put there by Bush. Jeb Bush actually wanted him to get that position and Justice Roberts is the one that gave us Obamacare. It should be called Roberts Obamacare because a year ago, if you remember, the original, he voted shockingly in favor of Obamacare. Now he's done it again.

A celebrity getting involved to make a complete mockery of the complete mockery of our system. I love it.

What's sad.. people mocking a guy who has been able to generate billions of dollars into the work force. Trump has done more to help people, than Hillary.. or most politicians - especially Obama.

But sure, just mock him. He pays more in payroll checks to people per month than any of us ever will in our lifetime.

OK. And I'll stop when he's no longer running for President.

There's a difference between running a business and running a country, and I'm not entirely sure if his success as a businessman is because of who he is, or in spite of who he is.

In any case, Trump is a joke as a candidate and his presence only hampers GOP goals.

I dunno about billions. He's good at convincing people he has that. Millions certainly. And he lost millions through pandering to the lowest conservative denominator. Both his Apprentice show and non cable Miss Universe program, gone in a flash.

If it's all so easy.. then go do it yourself.

As for the difference between running a business and running a country? You're right.. running a country is much easier.. there is no accountability.

His net worth is 4.1 billion.

He's had some high profile bankruptcies along the way, plus that Trump University scandal.

Fair enough. Bankruptcies can't really count as negative money.

Most blatant troll post ever. Oh, and here's an article (http://www.ijreview.com/2015/06/349852-federal-government-reigned-libertarian-news-outlet-scotus-says-not-fast/) about reason.com anonymous commenters being pursued by the feds. Obama had zero experience running either and people decided he'd make a great president.

That's funny. I thought a pro Libertarian website calling Obama a conservative was pretty exactly on point.

But I guess it's the opposite of your "Waah, post something with substance." coin. "Waah, I don't like things that don't agree with me even if people from my political affiliation say them!"
