It's official. He's running!
This may be the most entertaining presidential announcement I've ever watched, and I've watched a lot. It starts at around 7:30.

Watch it before you dismiss Trump.
Please, please, please let Trump make it into the debates.

If he hasn't filed his paperwork, it doesn't matter how much he says it.

I'm sure the Democrats popped open a few bottles of champagne over this announcement...

When was the deadline?

When was the deadline?
It hasn't passed yet, but merely saying "I'm a candidate" is not the only requirement.

Didn't Trump announce he was running like the last two elections but he never did?
The guy just does shit for publicity.

He's all talk. If he were actually nominated he'd shit his pants, then back out.

Pretty much. I sort of shake my head in disappointment at the people who believe the man has a chance in hell.

I think they are mainly there for the spectacle. It's like reality TV.

I read the the people applauding him were paid actors.

Yeah, they all got paid $50 each.

"We are looking to cast people for the event to wear T-shirts and carry signs and help cheer him in support of his announcement," the email said. "We understand this is not a traditional 'background job,' but we believe acting comes in all forms and this is inclusive of that school of thought."
lol
Maybe they could hire actors to vote for him, too.

It's funny that you think that detail is important. Every candidate has their paid staffers mingle with the audience to encourage sufficient and appropriately timed applause. The only difference is that Trump used professionals, instead of paid political staffers. From the very beginning of his campaign, he is exhibiting more competence than his competitors.

After just a few days of being in the race, Trump has nearly caught Bush, even though Bush has been unofficially running for six months!
Bush tops the list of GOP contenders with 15 percent support among Republican primary voters. That’s up from 12 percent last month and his best showing yet. Support for Trump more than doubled since his announcement and that catapults him into the top tier at 11 percent. He’s followed by retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 10 percent. No one else receives double-digit backing.

Do you really think republicans are different in any meaningful way?
