Happy New Year, everyone!

To start the year off right, I am sharing this helpful article that lists five ways to know if you're speaking to a white supremacist group. May it serve you well.

http://news.yahoo.com/five-ways-to-know-you-re-speaking-to-white-supremacists-004845526.html

As a bonus, I will add a sixth way to know. If you were just one of three Louisiana legislators to vote (http://www.politicususa.com/2014/12/31/steve-scalise-voted-martin-luther-king-holiday.html) against recognizing the MLK holiday, then you should be careful that people don't mistakenly believe you would like to speak to white supremacist groups.

David Duke is threatening to expose other politicians if the House removes Scalise from his Republican leadership position..

He threatened to release a list with names of Republicans and Democrats who've been tied to him in one way or another. "If Scalise is going to be crucified -- if Republicans want to throw Steve Scalise to the woods, then a lot of them better be looking over their shoulders."

More... (http://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2014/12/david_duke_threatens_to_expose.html)

I wasn't for the MLK holiday when it was created. It wasn't because I was against a national holiday being created for a black man (or black woman, for that matter) - I think the country was way overdue for such an action. It's just that I thought there were a few better candidates in our nation's history.

But I've been accused of being racist for even daring to suggest that there might have been a single black person in our nations history better qualified to have a national holiday named after them. Who says liberals never have religious zeal?

Lolwhat? Talk about left field...I was referring more to your statement about race, since that's kinda what this thread is about. But since we're already here...

While I'm sure there were a fair number of tea-partiers protesting on the side of Mr. Bundy, I don't recall anyone asking them their opinions on other topics at that time. You're comparing something that was happening right then and there - the Federal government physically stealing and destroying a citizen's property - and citizens standing up to defend themselves to legislation in a city two thousand miles away. It's ridiculous on so many levels. I'm not even going to touch the comparison to drone bombings in another country.

I'm glad you have no problems making ignorant blanket statements about people based on...well, I'm not sure. Show me where the evil tea partier touched you?

Show me where the tea partier stood up for real violations of civil rights? They go on and on about freedom and yada yada, walk around with loaded guns for no other reason than to "assert their rights", but some inner city kid gets shoved into a wall and searched for no reason and they don't say shit. It's staggering hypocrisy. And LOl at the federal government stealing property. Bundy, the rich rancher, didn't want to pay his way. He was grazing for free. Easy to make money when you don't have to pay for the raw materials like everyone else.

The "New Black Panther Party" have nothing to do with the historical Black Panthers.

They're a convenient Fox News trope that has taken money from them.

You apparently don't know shit about the actual Black Panthers. It's not surprising.

The founder of the actual Black Panthers on the New Black Panther Party, "Just to hate another person because [of] the color of their skin or their ethnicity—we don't do that. That's not what the goal objective is. The goal objective is human liberation. The goal objective is the greater community cooperation and humanism. The goal objective is to get rid of institutionalized racism..."

His cofounder's foundation put this out, "As guardian of the true history of the Black Panther Party, the Dr. Huey P. Newton Foundation, which includes former leading members of the Party, denounces this group's exploitation of the Party's name and history. Failing to find its own legitimacy in the black community, this band would graft the Party's name upon itself, which we condemn. [T]hey denigrate the Party's name by promoting concepts absolutely counter to the revolutionary principles on which the Party was founded. The Black Panthers were never a group of angry young militants full of fury toward the white establishment. The Party operated on love for black people, not hatred of white people."

Lost cause theory has sadly been going strong since J.E.B Stuart decided to try to explain away the war afterwards. If only it would disappear in 2-3 generations. Well, put it another way. Look at the themes of posts by the likes of Methais and Wrathbringer. Are they racist? I don't think so. But they clearly have a chip on their shoulder about the issue of racism. Specifically, that the "race card" is played by racist liberals - something we all know to be true of many individuals and organizations who identify as "liberal". The same can be said of the Tea Party, particularly because the Tea Party, as I understand it, is a loose organization of many types of people - including the worst kinds of racists. For instance, white supremacists tend to be quite anti-government (particularly when that government is headed up by a BLACK MAN!!) and naturally identify with many of the Tea Party principles of limited government and conservative values. But just as every racist black person is not representative of all liberals, I wouldn't say white supremacists are representative of a group as varied as the Tea Party.

Makes sense to me.

Edit: Specifically, I'm trolling the people who think cutting spending = black fatherless families everywhere starving = racist to cut spending. Like WB.

Mine is a mixture of trolling and not trolling. If I say something that sounds like it could be exaggerated or involves Soul Glo, it's probably me trolling.

If I say something like the Ferguson protesters (or the Trayvon Martin retards, etc.) are a bunch of stupid fucks who just want to use Michael Brown as a reason to go nuts in the streets and get free loot even after all the evidence was released and they completely disregarded it because it doesn't flow with their narrative, then well...you know.

It has nothing to do with the Tea Party as it were. They just have a membership correlation with Lost Cause/South Will Rise Again people.

Maybe it just takes a white guy to figure out we're spending/taxing too much. Isn't that possible?

edit: Not trying to be racist at all. By "white guy" I just mean someone with a job paying taxes not on welfare and loving the gubment freebies from tax/spend.

Yeah the Democrats started the Klan during reconstruction, but in the 1920's the republicans were desperate for votes and the Klan didn't like the way the democrats were going. So the Klan and the Republicans made a deal. The Klan would campaign for and vote for Republicans while the Republicans would make laws favoring the Klan. The seat of power for the Klan at the time was Indiana. History channel did an awesome documentary called the Secret history of the Ku Klux Klan. I think many of the posters in this topic have never lived in the South. If you had, you wouldn't be saying that only a very few people are rednecks with strange political viewpoints. Such folks are definitely a minority, but I assure you, they are out there.

As an example, you do realize there are a few private golf clubs out there that do not permit women to play on their property? Never mind a woman becoming a member, that's a joke at best and fighting words at worst. A few of these clubs will not even accept deliveries from female truck drivers (when they say no women on their property, they mean it). One club as far north as Maryland (likely the most selective of these clubs) has this rule. That's not possible you say? Here's the link to the Wikipedia article about the club: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burning_Tree_Club

Laugh all you want, but there is small subculture out there with some strange viewpoints.

I don't think anyone is doubting such people exist; they are doubting the number of such people.

I bet there are some black people out there who want to replace Christmas with "Free crack and hos day" but to say such a thing is stupid because they (probably) don't represent a significant portion of the black community.

Likewise thinking you're making some sort of point by pointing out that some Southern rednecks want to...sorry I forgot what the nonsense even was and I can't be bothered to go back and check.

But whatever - when I make posts like this I feel like I'm talking to my cat. The cat doesn't know, doesn't want to know, doesn't care, and doesn't have the intelligence to understand anyway. Which in a way makes me the biggest idiot for even trying.

In my years living here, I have never heard this shit you people are professing to be true. So what?

Look, bro...you can't change human nature. We're rigged to distrust people that don't look like us...that goes for all races, and has been proven empirically time and again. It's a defense mechanism imbedded in our DNA.

Not making excuses for Scalise, but let's be objective about it...he was on a speaking tour about some local tax referendums...you can't honestly think politicians can be bothered with booking their own appearances, can you? Can you find anything related to white supremacy in the text of his speech?

If anything, the nimrod assistant that booked that gig should be fired, and I'm pretty sure he was.

It's chasing the fucking rabbit, man. Shit like this looks good because it fits in to what you want...a Republican speaking at a White Supremacy meeting. Can you count on one hand the number of times that's happened in the last 20 years? Not talking about fringe loonies, actual legit candidates.

If all the racists went underground, I say that's a win for civil rights. We have checks and balances in place to ensure fair hiring practices, fair wage distribution, and fair working conditions...if you feel you're being violated, you're only a 1-800 number away from getting justice.
