They got laughed at on the forums for acting like they accomplished something that people cared about.


But yeah, full open world PvP in the zones that can go into war, you can even kill your own faction and eventually become a pirate. The open sea is always open PvP.

Archeage is a PvP game like EVE is a PvP game. You can go weeks without ever fighting another player, but you're almost always at constant threat to be killed. But in EVE you can be a miner and go ratting and almost never run into reds, and I imagine the same will be true for Archeage as well.

Eh, it depends. I pretty much always run into reds in open sea.

I'm currently totally into this game. I've got a 16x16, an 8x8 and 2 farm carts. I'll be getting a merchant ship on friday or saturday. I love that I levelled from 24-50 from farming, and trade runs.

Yeah, starting to like it. I'm not used to MMO's where you don't clip through people so pvp has been a little weird. Tomorrow I'm gonna try to do that trade run to Austeria!

Woops, I already did it.. pretty much as soon as the server came up yesterday. If you go to do it when I'm on today let me know I can help with guard duty.

I can't get this game to run. Downloaded the client and it just sits there on the Glyph screen. Sometimes the splash screen will show up behind that window, then disappear if I try to click it or move off of the Glyph window.

Task manager shows the game running. I tried deleting the "asc" folder, rebooting, then running hsupdate.exe as administrator like their site suggested, but still nothing.

The first time I ran it, the game eventually did come up after a few minutes, but the cut scene didn't have any sound, eventually ended up ending the process.

I didn't have any problems with Alpha, but that was a couple months ago.

Anyone else had this problem and/or know how to fix it?

That's part of hack shield Methais, you often have to wait 5-10 minutes for it to load, just push the play button and go afk, it'll likely load after a while.

Does that with me as well... it's not every time, but sometimes. Most times it will load in a minute or two, sometimes sitting there for 5. But it does eventually load.

Yeah I rolled melee with my main character and once I finished with the quests I've mostly just been farming and trade runs. I feel like ranged/casters have a pretty big advantage in run of the mill world pvp situations, even the few pve dungeons I've done feel the same.

Reinstalled everything last night and it loaded up fine. Guessing it had some shit leftover from Alpha that was fucking things up.

I think my problem was different. The Hackshield thing would pop up, the update bar would get to about 10% and then it would disappear. So something was fucking up Hackshield's updater I guess.

After reinstalling last night, the bar went all the way to 100% and everything loaded up like normal.

Yep, thats basically how it goes every time I play AA. Jets crash landing on me into a 360noscope and creepy people touching animals.

My guild got a castle. Course I left the guild like 10 min before they claimed it, I wanted to go solo for awhile.

Now.. these new boxes.. man.. the people on my server are FREAKING out.. they are like.. OMG the game is OVER!!11!!11

So what if TS trees are cheaper. Frankly.. I hated the fact that the only way to get one was have 10 farms running trees non stop.. do a huge illegal farm and pray no one found it, or your guild backed you up... or have the RNG gods love you.

Maybe now people will actually use their farms.

I'm guessing this game is impossible to do any real crating on with a F2P account? I wasn't even able to do that first crating quest (had to make some sort of spice, forgot the name) because my plants kept getting stolen and it wouldn't let me plant them on a public farm.

Also noticed you can't sell on the auction house with a free account either.

What can you do, just run around and quest/level? Are raids and shit restricted too later on?

No the raids are not restricted.

it can kinda be... the game really isnt designed for solo play, or non patron play to be honest. Unless you have patron friends.

The pvp looks pretty decent. I'm playing a Daggerspell build which seems pretty ridiculous from the videos I've seen.

I'll probably end up going patron if it keeps my interest at 50.

i have a Daggerspell as well, been fun to play so far even though the leveling is a little tedious.

I crafted my way to 50... then again, that was when workers compensations were 4-5 gold a piece.

Being 19-20 now, I wouldnt do it.
