Andrew Exum was a Captain in the Army Rangers, so that makes this even odder. I guess he has become a full blown attention whore.

He's using sarcasm to condemn what he believes is the implication of the Huffington Post article.
Should we be afraid of Veterans?

Oh was he? I couldn't tell if he was the writer or not. RETRACTED.
You should be afraid of veterans no more then you should be afraid of any other human being.

How many shooters were on a metric fuckton of medications with sideeffects like suicidal ideation? Funny sarcastic tweet though.

I want to hear more about this. Are we just throwing drugs at our veterans and saying "Thank you for your service."

I have heard that psychology is all about treating with medication now, veterans or not.

This is correct based on what I've seen. My dad has PTSD and health issues from Vietnam, and the only thing the psychiatrist does for him is prescribe more or different meds. Some of the meds have serious side effects, so they wind up presbribing medication to take care of the side effects of the first medication, but the second medication has side effects too so more prescriptions are needed, ad infinitum.

Only so you could get the pleasure of killing us yourself!Like most people I almost never really do, but I laughed out loud at this.
I have heard that psychology is all about treating with medication now, veterans or not.To be fair, medication is the most prevalent treatment because it works the best. Just like antibiotics replaced amputation for infection, SSRIs et al replaced tricyclics replaced shock therapy replaced blood letting. It's not the end, but it's a damn sight ahead of the beginning.

Some of the meds have serious side effects, so they wind up presbribing medication to take care of the side effects of the first medication, but the second medication has side effects too so more prescriptions are needed, ad infinitum.Speaking as someone who went through that process (and the eventual withdrawals from all the medications), it was better than not doing so. This was not for PTSD specifically.
