This is what they call irony.
And despite his general election loss, Romney still says his best advice for early state voters is to back a candidate with a viable shot of taking the White House.
"As the first-in-the-nation, you will have a big role in choosing our next nominee for president. My guess is that every one of the contenders would be better than whoever the Democrats put up. But there will only be one or perhaps two who actually could win the election in November," Romney told New Hampshire Republicans Tuesday, according to a prepared copy of his remarks.

The Republicans' mistake last time was going with somebody "safe" like Romney who didn't really believe anything. To win in 2016, Republicans need to choose somebody who doesn't change his core values every time the wind shifts directions.
With similar ironic political insight, Romney warned Republicans against shutting down the government to stop Obamacare..
Romney did not criticize anyone by name, but he dismissed the very strategy employed by some of his party's biggest names -- potential 2016 presidential candidates among them. Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, Ted Cruz of Texas and Mike Lee of Utah are urging Republicans to swear off voting for any year-end spending bill that includes money for the president's health care law. The federal government will close if Congress doesn't approve a stopgap funding bill by the fiscal year's Sept. 30 end.
