The Constitution says that "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The last time I checked minors were people. It's up to the Supreme Court to right this wrong.
In a court filing, the NRA and two 19-year olds ask the court to strike down the 1968 law, which a three-judge panel for the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously upheld last year.
The law prevents licensed gun dealers from selling handguns, shotguns and rifles to anyone under 18, and further prevents the sale of handguns and ammo to anyone under 21.

Someone who is 18 is not a minor nor would they be charged as a minor in a criminal case. Your thread is misleading.

I usually just skip ClydeR links (and posts) but I decided to check this one out.
The NRA is strictly challenging the provision of the law that applies to the purchase of handguns from licensed dealers for anyone over the age of 18 and under the age of 21.
No wonder ClydeR usually only quotes one or two sentences from his links.

I always thought it was kinda funny that I was issued a pistol by the military when I was under 21, but couldn't buy one. Either way, I don't care about this suit. I had no inclination to purchase a handgun when I was 18, to be honest. I did have a rifle at 15, obviously I didn't buy it though, and it was just a little Marlin .22LR bolt action.

I would think that they could be trained to not fire when the canary falls unconscious. Otherwise, why we wouldn't let them purchase guns? Stalagmen are a very real threat.

I didn't quote that sentence because it misstates the case. What do you think the word "strictly" means in that sentence? Does it mean "only"? Or does it mean "exactingly" in a legal sense (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strict_constructionism)?

ROFL.
I confess that it took me a few seconds to figure out that one.
