Former Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) is calling Lady Gaga’s rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner — in which she swapped the lyrics “home of the brave” for “home for the gays” — “reprehensible.”
The “Bad Romance” pop star is heard making the National Anthem lyrics change in a YouTube clip from a New York City gay pride rally held last week.

She didn't write the national anthem. Shouldn't it be illegal for her to change it without the author's permission?

Imprison her. America will crumble if she's allowed to continue her subversive ways.

I like how she sang the words "star spangled flag of pride" while waving a gay rainbow flag around, despite that flag not having a single star on it.
Retards and their sheeple...
Quote from a gay friend of mine on this:
"Why would she do that? Disrespectful to alter the words ... *sigh*"
Clearly he's a bigot.

I think it's stupid, but the amount of butthurt sure to be flowing after this nonissue will be entertaining.

Yeah, nothing worse than a dumb cunt having too much sex... better have only the exact right amount, no less or you are a worthless prude.

Why is it that certain (idiot) people insist on labeling opinionated, brash women as whores?

I am genuinely curious about why you'd think this. I mean, is it because she dresses provocatively? Because of her racy videos?

I don't think that's an issue unless you try to record and sell it.
Also, yes I think it was in poor taste but at the same time, we haven't had her doing anything outlandish and crazy in a while. She has to remind us all she's there, ready to don that meat bikini and let us know it doesn't matter because you were born this way.

The intent was to protest DADT, then DADT was repealed. Coincidence? Yes, actually... yes, it was. But what's more outlandish and crazy, humping a piano that (through the magic of video) you yourself are sitting on in reverse drag, or denying basic human rights to a minority group? Eh?
.
Can we talk about why whoever came up with that headline used "raps" with a human object? Has anyone ever heard it used in the transitive without the object being a lyric? Why not use "blasts", or "condemns", or "criticizes"... unless the author's intent was to pick the closest possible word to "rapes"? Am I really the only one who thought that was weird?

The thing I find really funny about these types of things are, there really is no opposite to it.
She may not be a liberal, altho I would say that it is almost a certainty, but even taking that out of the equation, there is nothing like this that a conservative could do really. Be it someone burning a flag, or stepping on it, or changing the anthem or what not. The best they can do is not do the things. That's one of the main reasons why they do these things, it gets attention without the chance of a corresponding act.
Kinda like I guess, if a anti-gay person would crash a gay pride parade. There are no straight pride parades, so it's not like they can crash those. Honestly I can't ever remember hearing of a gay pride parade crashed though.
All in all, she can sing it how she wants, lots of people have changed the song, tho not normally to this extreme really. All she does is make it so she is never likely asked to sing it again, which is a good thing, since she is an entertainer, and not a singer.

I just don't get her. Maybe I'm too old to find her to be "hip" but really I'm just confused.
And yes, I thought it was weird as well.

As a Veteran, I'm a little more than slightly offended by this. I get misty when the song is played in public settings. I can't really help myself that it moves me. I'm glad I wasn't there. I would have been angry. There is nothing about that song that warrants that kind of disrespect, unlike the majority of her "music".
I realize this is her gimmick and her purpose is to be offensive. She's good at it. I'd like to see her pick up a rifle and complete military training....let alone a tour of duty.

Lots of gay pride parades get crashed by religious groups. You just don't hear about it because it's not worth the time to report.

Alright, that's a little intense. What would you consider a fundamentally homophobic majority, to such a degree that homophobic slurs are "just insults"?

Like I said, she is a great entertainer. I am just saying, put her on a stage with people that can actually sing, and sing well, and she will be blown off the stage every time.
It's like Taylor Swift, the girl can entertain, but she is not a singer.

Gaga has a set of pipes that most singers would kill for. And no, I am not a fan. I just recognize her considerable innate ability.

It's like Taylor Swift, the girl can entertain, but she is not a singer. In real life people are not limited by a stat or skills cap. There are some people who are good at entertaining and singing (and, for that matter, songwriting). It is unfortunate for our purposes that Lady Gaga has such a distinctive voice, because I am absolutely sure that if you were to unknowingly listen to her singing you would have a very different impression.

If you feel the author of the national anthem has a cause to complain, then he'd be the one that needs to complain, fairly sure that isn't happening. Been far far worse versions of the song, I point to Roseann for a prime example.

I love that Jarvan's actual problem with Lady Gaga is not her vocal ability, which is obvious because he has no idea what he's talking about, but rather the fact that she's "a liberal." Give me a break.
