The Senator in turn changes his stance about gay marriage, then this happened: (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/20/will-portman-criticized-conservatives-senator-gay-marriage_n_2910103.html?ir=Politics&ref=topbar)

But while some people were quick to applaud the young man as "brave," others were less congratulatory.

On the same day Portman's change of heart made national headlines, the right wing blog "Government Is Not God" warned the politician that homosexuality "may eventually kill his son from AIDS, other sexually transmitted diseases, or oral cancer."

"Homosexual sex is ultimately just as destructive as cocaine use," the post continued. "Would Portman suddenly call for the legalization of cocaine if his son had announced that he was a cocaine addict? Would that be “loving” and “compassionate”?"

In a statement posted on the Family Research Council (FRC) website, FRC president Tony Perkins wrote that Will's choices, and the choices of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in general "are both harmful to them and society as a whole."

Meanwhile, Bryan Fischer, the controversial mouthpiece of the anti-gay American Family Association, compared being gay to being a bank robber, adding "prayers for the senator, his wife, his son and their entire family are called for at this time."

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the senator told reporters that he had consulted several people about his change in position, including former Vice President Dick Cheney, who has a gay daughter. Cheney reportedly told Portman to "follow [his] heart" on the issue.

Let's see here. Only gays get AIDs, check. Only gays get STDs, check. Comparing being gay to using cocaine, check. Comparing being gay to robbing a bank, check.

My favorite part is the oral cancer bit, I guess penises cause oral cancer now.

The republican party is more interested in turning potential voters away than being more tolerant and inclusive. Brilliant strategy.

Typical huffpo biased lies. There's not even a Senator from Ohio named Rob Portman. Open your eyes, sheeple.

Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not.

Tgo deserves more recognition for this! I don't know why he's doing it but he's consistent as hell and hilarious.

So while I do not agree with extreme Republican stupidity, I still have a problem with a gay man who has multiple sexual partners per year, engages in unprotected sex, and then blames the government when he gets the HIV virus. The government is not a substitute for personal responsibility.

As for the gay man who knows he is HIV positive and engages in unprotected sex without telling his partner he has the HIV virus, why should such a man not be in prison?

I still have a problem with a gay man who has multiple sexual partners per year, engages in unprotected sex, and then blames the government when he gets the HIV virus.1. Who is blaming the government for this again?
2. You do not have a problem with a straight man who has multiple sexual partners per year, engages in unprotected sex, and then contracts HIV from a woman?

I personally have a problem with anyone that has HIV and does not tell their partner and has unprotected sex. Doesn't matter if it's gay sex, or straight to me.

I have the same problem with anyone who has multiple sexual partners per year, engages in unprotected sex, and then contracts HIV, be they man or woman, straight or gay.

Perhaps it's the newspapers I read, but it seems like gay men complain about this issue more than straight men. However I believe HIV is much more easily transmitted via gay sex versus straight sex. That's not a judgement of any kind, just biology.

Epic trolling.

Nope. It's just your inability to believe that other people don't think the way you do. You can't handle that, so you call it trolling.

Only in the context of "can praying mantises be gay." If that's what you meant then yes, I probably do.

Personal responsibility is definitely a conservative thing. For instance, all the conservative sexual deviants I know are very responsible in their personal relationships. Their non-personal, hypnolactating relationships are a whole different story.

That doesn't make any sense....I'm going to have to call the BBB to get clarification.
