Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time.

Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there. And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations. And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake.

Part of being able to move this forward is understanding the reality of guns in urban areas are very different from the realities of guns in rural areas. And if you grew up and your dad gave you a hunting rifle when you were ten, and you went out and spent the day with him and your uncles, and that became part of your family's traditions, you can see why you'd be pretty protective of that.

So it's trying to bridge those gaps that I think is going to be part of the biggest task over the next several months. And that means that advocates of gun control have to do a little more listening than they do sometimes.

Do you believe it? Obama just went through an election against varmint hunter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-iRlBH3G6A) Mitt Romney and never once showed photos of himself shooting skeet? Really?

I just find it hilarious that Obama thinks people are concerned about their "hunting traditions" and that's why they're against gun control. Ooops, I meant gun safety.

Not really what he said. I still wish he'd gone for more background/mental health stuff versus proposals that were never going to pass, but, then again, if Obama proposes them Republicans don't even support conservative ideas.

I really don't want to see Obama shooting his skeet, it might land in the face of someone other than Michelle.

The White House released a photo of Obama skeet shooting. The first thing I notice is that he's shooting left handed, unless the photo is somehow reversed. I don't think the photo is reversed because Obama normally wears his watch on his left arm. Most left handed people shoot right handed.

This is the new big thing in conservative talk. There are all sorts of questions about that picture. For example, it doesn't look like he's aiming at the right angle. He should be aiming higher if he's really shooting skeet. Does that look like real smoke? Isn't it more likely that he had a smoke bomb taped to the other side of the barrel? And does he really wear his pants that high, or are his britches photoshopped?

If you will remember, I am the one who originally started the inquiry that lead to the release of the photo with the first post in this thread one week ago.

If he does shoot sheet he does it poorly. He is holding that shotgun like you would a rifle, tough to swing on a skeet clay with your trigger arm tucked in so tight.
