Obama, in an address from the White House Monday, will call on Congress to pass a one-year extension of tax cuts for households making less than $250,000 a year, said senior campaign aide Robert Gibbs.

The president's appeal to middle-class voters is aimed at drawing a contrast with Republican rival Mitt Romney and congressional Republicans. The House GOP is expected to make its own push this month for an extension of all the Bush-era tax cuts due to expire at the end of the year, including reductions on wealthier income earners. Obama opposes extending the tax cuts for higher income earners.

It's not fair to extend the tax cuts only for poor people, like nail ladies and baby sitters. We should extend the tax cuts for everybody, especially for the rich people who not only are the most productive and most deserving but who also create all the jobs.

The speech will reportedly be at 11:50 AM.

This is a good move by Obama to be honest. His War on Wealth will fire up the LCDs of the party who know very little about economics but know they deserve more than they are getting and blame the evil rich bastards for the bad hand they were dealt.

It's not fair!!

War on wealth? Overreact much?

You know, when people overreact, it's usually to overcompensate. By that I mean, if I say I want to do something, and you say BY GOD DO NOT DO THAT IT HURTS SO BAD, I might say ok, I'll meet you half way, when it really did not affect you as bad as you claimed in the first place, you get away with making it impact you even less. And I don't really blame anyone for doing that. Its just silly.

Like when people say things like "Meat for the rich and scraps for everyone else?"

You are probably right though.. since you have years of overcompensating experience.
