Guessing we'll see him as the VP candidate?

Romney won't beat Obama. Huntsman will run in 2016.

Wonder where you got THAT idea!
[LNet]-You: "Think Huntsman has a chance in 2016 after Obama's second term?"

If the economy takes off in the coming 10 months.. you might be right. If it doesn't, a semi-potty trained cat would beat Obama.
It's all about the economy, stupid.. and I doubt Romney will be McCain 2.0 and let Obama claim to be the answer to getting the economy back on track.
As far as Huntsman goes.. this campaign was so badly organized I'm not so sure he's going to be running in 2016 now.

If he cant organize a campaign, why would you want him to run a country?

^^^^^^^^
My thoughts exactly... though I never thought Huntsman was really running to get elected and more about getting some name recognition for down the road. Even if that was his goal.. he did a terrible job of that too.

Huntsman's campaign was marred by the fact that he's not a batshit insane ultra conservative.
Huntsman would do much better in a general election then Newt, Bachmann, Santorum, or Godfather's pizza.

No matter who the presidential nominee is, the VP nominee will be Marco Rubio.

Do you have polling data to illustrate this.. because every shred of evidence points to the exact opposite. Sounds more like an opinion, based entirely on nothing.
Unless you believe Huntsman would be more attractive to liberal / moderate voters than Obama is..

Hope so.. but I think it would be dumb of Rubio. He should do his time in the Senate.. and run for President in 2016 or 2020.

I'm saying moderates and liberals will go on en mass to ensure a Santorum or Bachmann won't get elected. Their ultra-religious stance would also keep many conservatives from voting for them. Huntsman wouldn't really energize much of the conservative base, but he would pull votes away from Obama.

I'm not sure why Gingrich, Santorum and especially Perry are still in this. Perry is a joke, Santorum must be fooled into thinking God really does want him to run because only the hardcore religious fanatics seem to be backing him and Gingrich is perceived as a racist asshole (I'm not saying he is a racist asshole and I'm not really going to get into a debate about whether he is or not, I'm just saying he is being perceived as such.)
Seriously you would think they would all just bow out by now because the only purpose they are serving is to make Romney look bad. I thought they all just wanted to make sure Obama didn't get reelected? Well knowing you're going to lose to Romney yet you continue to attack him isn't helping that goal.

I doubt that.. but you do know that Bachmann is out and Santorum is polling extremely badly right now, right? Neither one of them stood a chance.. just like Huntsman never stood a chance. And it should make you understand why Huntsman didn't do well in a Republican race with all the supposed support from the moderates and liberals.
Their ultra-religious stance would also keep many conservatives from voting for them. Huntsman wouldn't really energize much of the conservative base, but he would pull votes away from Obama.
If there is polling data out there that suggests that Huntsman would do better in the general election than anyone else (excluding Romney), link it.. because I've never seen anything of the sort. Huntsman has always polled at the bottom of the pack.

I actually want this to be dragged out... and I don't see it as hurting Romney, I see it as helping Romney in the general. What's Obama going to do, pull out the "ZOMG ROMNEY WORKED FOR BAIN CAPITAL AND FIRED PEOPLE!!!" as an October surprise? Yea.. we know, thanks. Get all of his skeletons out of the closet now and Obama won't have much to find.

Obama will claim that Romney is a crazy Mormon and wears magic underwear. Obama wins. The end.

Wise comments.
According to a fancy scholarly article (http://journalistsresource.org/studies/government/politics/revisiting-primary-divisiveness-hypothesis/), the long 2008 primary helped Obama.
McCain did not have a long primary in 2008.
A counter argument would be that the Obama-Clinton contest of 2008 was not as negative as the Republican primary of 2012.

Remember when Bush was President and we had 8+% unemployment for his entire term?

Don't think much of the Republican establishment shares your view at this point. They really want this thing to end after South Carolina, according to what they said on the Sunday morning talk shows this week.

Somewhat related....came across this op-ed in the Washington Post and found it more informative about Romney's tenure at Bain Capital than all the attacks made recently: http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/when-romney-ran-bain-capital-his-word-was-not-his-bond/2012/01/12/gIQACvQxwP_story.html

Dominos.
Sealy.
Staples.
Salt Lake City Olympics.
I'll take his record over Obama's any day of the week.
