Ex-presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty on Monday endorsed Mitt Romney for the GOP presidential nomination, saying the former Massachusetts governor and businessman has what it takes to turn the country around.

In a statement, Pawlenty called Romney a "man of principle," grounded by belief in "the bedrock conservative ideals of limited government and free enterprise."

Man of principle? LOL! Romney's only consistent principle is to support whatever is popular at the moment.

The other shoe drops.

Two Republican sources said there had been discussions about Mitt Romney helping his new endorser, Tim Pawlenty, retire campaign debt that is said to be in the six figures during the past two weeks.

Romney campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul, asked about this, replied, "If Tim Pawlenty wants our help, that's something we'd help him with, just as we help all our friends."

Well, nobody said buying an endorsement is off the table...

I wouldn't call it bought. If you think about it. Who else would Pawlenty endorse? I'm sure it would have happened regardless.

Jindall came out and supported Perry today.

I'm sure that the debt and any form of monetary consideration relating to such never crossed anyones mind whatsoever...

It matters not, this country will scream at supersonic speed more towards fascism and therefore will elect Rick Perry. Please get in line for your government mandated vaccinations.

Jindall came out and supported Perry today.

Unlike the insincere Pawlenty endorsement of Romney, the heartfelt Jindal endorsement of Perry is going to win votes.

I don't know why liberals always think the far right is facist. The glove really doesn't fit. The Nazis called themselves socialists afterall. Facism is a creature of the far left.

I think there are policies by both left and right that lean us more towards fascism. Fascism and Communism are essentially more government control in all aspects of life. They each have their separate nuances though for sure.

We need to be focused on more freedom and personal responsibility and realize that government is not going to solve all of the issues that we are facing today, in fact it will make them worse.

The "far right" is against more government control. I think you might want to look at your political spectrum a bit closer.

Did you plagiarize that from the Tea Party platform? That would be considered far right.

It took 14 posts in this thread before we moved from Romney to Nazis.

I think Fascism and Far Right don't really go as well together as many would like to think. I think the current political spectrum diagram isn't a good indicator of reality.

You are right in saying that the Far Right (In this country) is against more government control in theory. However, I don't believe that they actually practice this in actuality.

Prescription drug program, the continuation of social security, the economy being run by central planning and a private central bank, etc.

The real political spectrum in my view is:

|-(total gvmt control)----------------------------------------------------------------------(anarchy)-|

People by and large are far too comfortable with government taking care of all of their needs.

You might be able to say facist foreign policy is closer to neocon policy, but not classic conservatism which is more isolationist, and so called liberals seem to change their feelings on war all the time, like veitnam. One liberal started it, another escalated it, then a conservative ended it.

But certainly facist domestic policy is liberal. Even when you get into things like population control and eugenics, these are the far left.

Some guy even wrote a book on it, I think its called "Liberal Facism"

I guess my overall point is that I don't trust politicians from either side of the isle. It always seems like there is a hidden agenda. Peace candidates rarely turn out to be peace candidates and promises of reform and cutting spending seem to always go by the wayside immediately after election or when lobbyists truly start to take their hold on the one in office.

I'm just very skeptical of people who claim to be Tea Party or for less government.

I also have a feeling there will be more war or "kinetic action" spread into other countries. Syria and Iran are closer to being intervened with than not. So if you are a person who really wants to not see more military action in the middle east I'm afraid you're in for some rough years ahead. I have no doubt in my mind that Rick Perry or whoever the GOP chooses (outside of Ron Paul) will continue this campaign.

We don't need to overthrow Iran. They're already under Sharia Law.

Thats why you need to look at record, more than rhetoric.

Like John McCain, decades of records showing he is a spending hawk. Do you think he would have changed because he was elected president? I don't, its why I voted for him. He notoriously skipped Iowa because he was strongly against ethanol subsidies and other farm subsidies and wasn't going to pander just to win the state.

Obama on the other hand, almost no record to speak of, but he always seemed to me to be a say anything kind of politician, so while I'm sure lots of the left who became infatuated with him have been surprised that his actions did not match his rhetoric, I haven't been. He is perhaps the worst president in modern history at that. He'll sit there in speech after speech complaining about congress needing to pass trade deals with Panama, Costa Rica, and South Korea. Only congress cannot act until the WH sends them the deals, and they haven't been sent yet. He is just a big bag of hot air. It is almost hilarious as he campaigned as being the different guy, but he is pretty much the stereotype of a politician.
