NBC news is hosting this one tonight. Anyone else going to watch?
If nothing else, I think it will be intriguing as the candidates are moving to the phase where they start attacking each other, particularly against Perry. It will also be interesting to see if any of the fringe players stick around or do something else to set themselves apart.

If Perry attends. The fires in Texas may keep him away. It's a huge disaster. If he attends, who will attack him while his state is suffering so?

Savviest move is for him not to attend. If they attack him while he is absent it looks cowardly and he has all the momentum now and a good excuse for not showing.

Rick Perry definitely won. All of the other candidates, jealous of his history of leadership success, were attacking him, but nobody threw him off his game. And that's so even though he didn't have a chance to prepare, since the Texas fires were occupying all his time.

I guess it just really shows me that while each media outlet might have their own agenda, they're also guided by some central agenda. There must be a reason why Paul is a clear contender, but so ignored across all the media outlets.

Its not about like or dislike. It CAN'T be. I would never vote for him, but I still can see the clear bias. The extreme lengths all of the primary media sources are going to to IGNORE him. How is this possible? Why are they doing it? How are they getting away with it? What is their agenda?

Straw polls and Internet polls don't make Paul a "clear contender".

source (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ames_Straw_Poll)
Place|Candidate|Votes|Percentage
1|Michele Bachmann|4,823|28.6%
2|Ron Paul|4,671|27.7%
3|Tim Pawlenty|2,293|13.6%
4|Rick Santorum|1,657|9.8%
5|Herman Cain|1,456|8.6%
6|Rick Perry (write-in)|718|4.3%
7|Mitt Romney|567|3.4%
8|Newt Gingrich|385|2.3%
9|Jon Huntsman|69|0.4%
10|Thaddeus McCotter|35|0.2%
—|Scattering|218|1.30%
Total||16,892|100%
I seem to remember the mainstream media shitting themselves over Bachman when she won the Iowa straw poll by less than 1% even though she has no chance.
They did however mention who came in 3rd and 4th as if they were absolute contenders, but seemed to skip over that Paul got 2nd.
Besides, since when did popularity not help in a popularity contest?

Probably due to the thought that a governor who enforces capital punishment would be considered tough on crime and strong-willed ("push-overs" commute/decline sentences).

IF you were a real fan, like me, you would have Showtime 2 (free when you get NFL Sunday Ticket super fan package from Directv) you would see that it was all planned out. Adam not using the veto was a deal he made with Jordan and Rachel.. and then they all decided to let Rachel boot the whiny black bitch out directly.
Love Jordan.. but don't care for anyone else. Jordan's problem is.. she's too nice, too trusting and she sucks at competitions. Best social game in there though.. simply because she's cute and nice to a fault.

I'm not debating the merits of the death penalty (which I support), just the celebration of it.

Seriously though, how many times does Ron Paul have to say things like "Just remember, 9/11 came about because there was too much government." before we can all agree he can't be taken seriously as a Presidential candidate?

How many crazy things has Bachman said? or Palin? It's not about their stance on issues. It's about something else. We're talking about the guy who is the basis of the entire Tea Party movement. He embodies everything they officially stand for. Yet Bachman gets the media gushing, but Paul doesn't.

Those 200,000 people are probably not 200,000 actual people. One thing behind Ron Paul supporters are that they are very tech/social media savvy.
Look at the actual polling data from a nationwide poll that is done in the proper, accepted method.. he's probably anywhere from 6-10%.
If the Presidential race was decided on open Internet polls and Straw polls, Ron Paul might actually be elected.
