It appears sitcoms are not the only thing we importing from the UK as of late. UK Uncut is spreading it's activism to the US hoping to shame corporate and billionaire tax dodgers into paying their fair share. At a time in which the federal government and many states are running a deficit would it not be patriotic for American corporations to actually pay taxes? The word is that BofA paid zero taxes last year.

I actually think it's a good cause, but could see it getting way out of hand quickly. There is a fine line to walk when you decide to "TARGET" someone and shut down their business as the 10 steps instruct. Folks tend to get angry when you do that.

Also what people often call "tax dodging" is just not being stupid and paying the maximum you possibly could if you did no tax planning.

I'd be pissed if my bank was shut down for a day because of this, and I'm sure people who are paid by the hour that work there would be too. (Not that I know if tellers are salary or by the hour.)

Tellers are probably paid hourly.

It would piss me off too but they would have communicated the reason for their protest which I would mention to a friend or look up online. I'd be frustrated at being inconvenienced but wouldn't be against the message. The protest would serve it's purpose of making more people aware.

BofA didn't just do some smart accounting which allowed them to avoid paying their maximum taxes. They paid no taxes at all; zilch, nothing, nada. They are not the only corporations to do so I something should be done about it.
