The United Nations is up to no good again. I swear Republicans have to spend so much time fending off threats from the UN that we hardly have time to focus on important domestic issues.
The latest threat is that the United Nations will take over the internet. Republicans in Congress are already working to block the UN's dastardly design.
“The Internet has progressed and thrived precisely because it has not been subjected to the suffocating effect of a governmental organization’s heavy hand. The attempt of the United Nations to overtake something that is so central to our economy—like the Internet—is offensive and completely out of line. We have a hard enough time keeping the Federal Communications Commission’s hands off the Internet; imagine having to convince governments like Syria, Iran and Venezuela.
“Market-based policies and private sector leadership have allowed the Internet the flexibility to evolve and continue to push the boundaries of innovation. I call on the President and his Administration to oppose any effort to transfer control of the Internet to the United Nations or any other international governmental entity.”

As those of you who follow my posts know, the reference to the FCC is about the so called "net neutrality" rules that Democrats want to impose on private companies to prevent them from using the internet, which those companies own, in the way that is most profitable to those companies, which, not coincidentally, is necessarily the way that is most beneficial to society.
Don't let Obama turn the internet over to Syria, Iran and Venezuela!
