As far as 2012, McConnell’s got a favorite for the fight: Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), who is considering a presidential bid. When asked by Allen whether he had spoken with Thune about a run, he said: “Yeah. If I hadn’t talked to him about it, I wouldn’t be talking to you about it.”

“Anybody who knocked out the Senate Democratic leader [Tom Daschle] and was so skillful that, six years later, no one even filed [to run] against him — that tells you John is a person of considerable political skill,” McConnell said.

What do you think about Thune? Wikipedia has a good rundown (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Thune#Political_positions) on his positions.

What could happen is that Thune will do okay as a candidate but won't get the nomination. But he will be a top choice for vice president, just like he was in 2008 when McCain wisely picked Palin instead. It could be Thune's turn to be VP in 2012.

Are we (http://www.forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?t=58691) sure he is free of disease? He apparently went to the University of South Dakota.

Taken from the University of South Dakota's website:

If you are a freshman, the north complex is where you will call home. The north complex consists of four residence halls: Beede, Mickelson, Richardson and Olson. All of the rooms are double occupancy on co-ed and single gender floors.

I have my doubts that he will even arrive to work on time.

He should be ashamed to have attended a University that allowed such living arrangements.
