View Full Version : Co-Ed Student Housing

Ohio University will soon become the 56th university to offer its students gender-neutral housing.

The school plans to create a more "inclusive" environment by overlooking gender and gender identity and permitting male, female, homosexual and/or straight students to live in the same room. Matt Barber, director of cultural affairs at Liberty Counsel, decides this is yet another example of liberals trying to create a culture that has no clear lines between male and female.

"But...from a moral standpoint, what does that say about a parent and their character," the cultural affairs director wonders. "I would think that a man that would allow his daughter to go live in this environment, you would have to question that man's character."

I am against it. Parents who let their children live in co-ed dorms should be ashamed. Employers who interview on these campuses should screen out students who live in co-ed dorms.

Why?

Why?

Because they displayed poor decision making in the past by choosing a college that allows co-ed dorms. Past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior and it shows poor morals. I agree with you on this Clyde.

I once lived in dorms for a year that allowed men on one floor and women on the next. This was very borderline ok with me, but regardless, it was the most awful and terrible experience of my lifetime. I hope no one ever has to deal with what I went through again.

I need to know immediately if you are feeding the troll or are actually seriously. This could damage our friendship.

I hear that, man. Their menstrual cycle attracted bears, and shit really got wild. I lost a few good friends Sophomore year in that fated night as the bears awakened from their winter slumber.

Oh the horror, oh the horror....

Actually, I had a discussion about this at church and they said that's not what I'm doing and I should continue supporting him wherever I can.

Apparently these conservative grumblers view co-eds as little better than rutting beasts who can't control their urges. "Boy! Must fuck." "Girl! Must hump."

Haha. Briefly, I thought that "menage a trois" was the thing that washed your asshole out.

Shows how much sex I've had lately.

Because smart employers want good -- preferably undiseased -- people working for them who will get to work on time.

I just called my pastor and, while we both understand the undiseased part of this statement, we're failing to understand how attendence at a learning institution that allows co-ed living arrangements would affect someone's ability to be punctual.

Please comment. Thank you.

I suspect fornication is occuring, thus delaying the ability to rise early in the morn to milk the cows.

I suspect you're right for while they are at school and during the school year, but in the years they're weak from disease and have to frequently get medical attention to deal with their pustules and ...

Nevermind, I got it. It's because they're so VD'd up that they're always going to be at the doctors or on sick leave. The problem is not that they will be late, the problem is that they may miss most days of the week to tend to their failing health.

I am not a butt-pirate. I live in America. I am free to voice my opinion on whether or not something is nasty. And I mean nasty in a bleh way.

I remember freshman year of college, our floor was divided in half with a boys half and a girls half, but some floors in the dorm just alternated every other room.

Anyways, at the orientation meeting some girl asked "We can just like, have guys over?"

One of the RAs answered "You're adults, we're not your parents, if you have sleep overs that is your business."

Which is of course true.

Hold the phone. While they are "technically" adults, choosing to attend a school that not only allows the ability to have sleepovers, but makes it easier by having co-ed dorms, indicates that you are among the lowest dregs of society. This should indicate to potential employers that you would be a poor employee who is not able to arrive to work on time.

I understand one of the most difficult parts of our college education system is finding places to house all of the students. Most schools are overcoming this problem by placing more students in already small dorm rooms. If a room can hold 2 students in discomfort, it can hold 3 in smaller amounts of comfort. There just never seems to be enough space to build extra dorms or even enough money with which to build them. To this, I say they should make space to show how moral our society it is. Colleges should print their own money to better our children's educations and lives. We should require students commute and increase their tuitions, as well. This is how we should view co-ed housing. This is how my pastor told my church last week that we should view co-ed housing.

On a slightly serious note, isn't there this whole thrust in Conservatism toward personal responsibility and taking charge of one's own life? Yet with this, religious fuck nuggets are saying that these young adults, old enough to serve in combat, be elected to public office, drink, own property, be sued and legally responsible for their actions are too young, irresponsible and weak willed to live in a dorm with those of the opposite sex? Never mind that these SAME people could very well go out and live ON THEIR OWN in an apartment complex with members of the opposite sex, same sex and undetermined sex right next door and people aren't saying a word about that.

I am forced to now pronounce this entire thing a heaping crock of shit and have to ask the following:

Really?!?!
