Former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty this morning added to the political debate about the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords by taking exception to Sarah Palin's use of cross hairs on a 2010 election map.

Former Governor Pawlenty may think he is helping himself by piling on Governor Palin, a 2012 opponent for the Republican nomination, but he will learn the hard way that by flouting Reagan's 11th commandment he merely weakens his own prospects.

Palin herself has broken that commandment many times, though...

Pawlenty has no chance of winning the nomination. Neither does Palin. The whole situation is moot.

Well, Pawlenty doesn't have a chance now that he dumped on Palin. But Palin consistently polls as one of the top favorites among likely Republican voters.
On the Republican side, it’s a dead heat between the ex-governors – Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Mike Huckabee of Arkansas and Sarah Palin of Alaska, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary voters.
Asked who they would vote for if the Republican presidential primary were held today, 20% say Romney, 19% Huckabee and another 19% Palin. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Romney and Palin are tied among male GOP voters, while Huckabee has a slight edge among female voters.

I hope you are right. I thought the same thing about McCain in 2008....
I mean heck, we still have DONALD TRUMP to elect!

I quite literally cringed when this came up.
And then laughed when this did:
