The difference in BTUs between LP and natural gas aside, why can I not have this in 1/600th of the size of a regular propane tank in my yard for residential use? That's rhetorical, by the way, I know it will boil off with current tech, but, fuck physics in the ear.

One of you engineers should get on that. Also, FUCK Missouri Gas and Energy. They came out and shut my gas off yesterday. it's currently 21 degrees here and expected to drop further by Monday.

Luckily I'm a gangster and I know how to convert my shit to propane to get me by until I find out why the hell they took my meter.

(actually I have a pretty good idea of why)

At least you paid your electric bill... so you could post this gem.

And I wouldn't say that's "gangster", more like white trash.

Hey, thanks for assuming. Actually its because I repeatedly contacted them to send me a bill and they never did. So I said fuck it, if you don't want me to pay it then I won't. Went on for two years. Some sort of paperwork fuckup. The person on the account is deceased.

I meant gangster as in, handy. I changed all the orifices and regulators so that I could use propane.

So you have been consuming LP gas in a fraudulent manner because you didn't get the account straight 2 years ago when the person died. OK, got it.

No. I sent them all my paperwork. Called multiple times to get them to send me a bill. I don't see how it's fraudulent when they left it on. I'm not mad that they turned it off, I'm mad at how they did it. They did it on a Friday right before a serious temperature drop without any warning. It's a bit hard to try to line up emergency heat on the weekends.

My one recommendation is to avoid Amerigas in any setting.

Slightly off topic, but can you believe what a dirty fucker that Amerigo Vespucci was? "oh sure, I'll make your maps...a new continent you say?"

Can you define "slightly" for the class, T&S?

It was actually done by a German dude inspired by letters that Vespucci might not have ever written. With that said, self promotion? Super American.

The bolded is illegal in IL. Also illegal to shut off electricity or gas between Nov and March.

Yes I understand that you don't live in IL. I just find the differences in laws interesting. I can understand southern states not having spans of time where disconnection isn't legal ... I can't understand how any state would allow disconnection without notice, or on a Friday.

I did not know this. Time to stop paying my gas bill during the winter. Go IL!

It's conceivable that they were sending stuff to the deceased's next of kin, getting paid, and figuring you were a crank... somewhat conceivable, anyway.

Nope. I'm the next of kin. Representative of the estate. Sent them that and a death certificate as well as called them multiple times. They eventually did send me a bill, for 4000 dollars or so.. and I told them they can go piss up a rope for all I care. It's not in my name and I doubt my dad gives a shit about his credit score right now. I'm not really sure how all that works, with having gone through probate already.

Anyway, I have 15 acres with good firewood on it and I've been researching gasification, or secondary combustion chamber wood furnaces. I think I've pretty much ruled out an out door wood boiler/burner due to cost.

Anyways, with the new tech these units are in the 85-90% efficiency rage with low particulate emissions. They're EPA phase II something or other, which is cool, but mainly what I like is generating all that heat and little to no creosote build up.

And you can duct them right into your hot air plenum so you can use your old system as a backup.
