Origin
Social Dominance Theory was first formulated[1] by Psychology Professors Jim Sidanius and Felicia Pratto. The key principles of the theory are that societies are stratified by age, sex and group. These group divisions are based on ethnicity, religion, nationality, and so on. Human social hierarchies consist of a hegemonic group at the top and negative reference groups at the bottom. More powerful social roles are increasingly likely to be occupied by a hegemonic group member (for example, an older white male). Males are more dominant than females, and they possess more political power (the iron law of andrarchy). Most high-status positions are held by males ([1], 1992). Prejudiced beliefs such as racism, sexism, nationalism and classism are all manifestations of this same principle of social hierarchy. The origin of social hierarchies is given an evolutionary explanation: prehistoric human societies organized in hierarchies were more efficient at combat than non-hierarchical groups, giving a competitive advantage to groups disposed towards social hierarchies ([1], 1992).:bananahit:

This requires having a hierarchy to dominate.
The target of your wraith shouldn't be at any griefer, but at Simutronics for allowing such a glaring issue to exist. You'd think a game that's 22 years old would be a bit more polished.

We have methods of justice and retaliation in the real world that aren't available in game. Furthermore, we as humans are all basically equal in our abilities. Almost any advantage one of us has can be either countered or obtained by any other party if so wished leaving a fairly equal playing field.
Most games that offer PvP have naturally countered and opposing forces between classes. They certainly have nothing nearly as OP as Gemstone has provided.

You are not griefed just for having your name. I have gone out of my way to raise and restore you to health on several occasions only to be reminded by your foul mouth and bad attitude exactly why you were dead in the first place. Whenever I get to feeling guilty for having been a part of your griefing, you make me feel all better as soon as you speak.

Adaptation is the evolutionary process whereby a population becomes better suited to its habitat.[1][2] This process takes place over many generations,[3] and is one of the basic phenomena of biology.[4]
The term adaptation may also refer to a feature which is especially important for an organism's survival.[5] For example, the adaptation of horses' teeth to the grinding of grass, or their ability to run fast and escape predators. Such adaptations are produced in a variable population by the better suited forms reproducing more successfully, that is, by natural selection.

Worn away by rain and the underground action of continual water, the road has sunk to swamp level. At this point, though, it remains firm enough for passage and rises slightly out of the swamp to the west. To the east the road disappears entirely under black water for twenty yards or so then emerges again to proceed unsteadily on its way. Continuing east is most likely a sink or swim proposition, and perhaps both. You also see some muck and the ruins of a paved stone road disappearing further into the swamp to the south.

[Tanzania's Gems & Jewelry]
Soft amber-hued velvet curtains frame the shop's glaesine windows. Thick garnet-colored carpeting muffles all sounds of footfalls as shoppers mill about the shop, buying and selling various pieces of jewelry and gems. Moonlight streams in through the glaesine windowpanes, illuminating the jewels displayed in cases along the rear wall. You also see the jeweler Tanzania.

A quartet of guardsmen saunter in, closely followed by the Guard Captain.
With great ease, the Guard Captain grabs you and shackles your wrists.
"There you are! We don't tolerate your crimes in Ta'Illistim, no we don't! Come along now!" says the Guard Captain.
The Guard Captain then drags you off.
Arriving at the Hall of Justice, the Guard Captain gestures to a nearby guardsman who strips you of your possessions and tosses them into a box. The Guard Captain then drags you over to a metal grate that he quickly opens and throws you through. "Enjoy your stay until the judge is ready to talk to you!" he snickers softly.
With a dull thud the grate drops back into place, leaving you trapped.
In the distance you hear the Guard Captain say, "There are clothes on the floor if you want them, but I expect them to be returned. You have two weeks time to clear out of here and collect your belongings. After two weeks I like to clean out the clutter in my office."

Lets be honest here. I wasn't selling these things for exorbitant amounts. I wasn't looking to make silver on these deals. I was simply trying to spread the wealth around a little. Yes, you got the jewelery. I ignorantly assumed level 0's were protected against attack. I was clearly incorrect.

So what's the point of having a capped character (or at least well above the target character) kill someone under 20 trains again?
Just curious myself really. Is it so you can show how "E-Scarry!" you are?

We police ourselves here they say. There are other capped characters that can join in to do it. But we are the only ones right now willing to do so, three of us. They should upgrade and make it where they can only attack characters within 10 levels or something but we all signed up for it.
There are alot of other people trying thier very best. However they just can't get him yet. But I would easily say the overwhelming majority would not mind if he was banned.
I am suprised the Vanguard has not joined in by now. Or maybe alot of the members are no longer in shattered anymore, I am not sure.

Yeah I was kinda having fun in Shatterd, mainly cause I can script heal and still level up while not being there. But that is just retarded to stalk someone and kill them over and over when your AS is 7x their DS.
Fucking with people around your level, or just cause you don't like them... I get that.
Griefing someone just cause you need to flex those E-muscles I don't get. WoW wasn't even this retarded when I played it last year.

I, for one, am not supportive of any bans in Shattered. It opens a door that should not even exist in this instance.
One of the problems I saw with Shattered in the beginning was the possible negative (nerf) effect it would have on the other instances. With all of these abuses of mechanics there is a good chance that spells like Void, Spike Thorn and Song of Sonic Disruption, to name a few, will get hit hit with the nerf bat when the GMs start realizing what capped characters can do with them. That is the real danger that I see here.
There are a couple of other spells, that I won't mention, which have yet to be used, or advertised at least, in such a way to expose their overwhelming benefit to those who know about their effects. I imagine it is only a matter of time before someone says "Wow, that spell is causing a lot of issues in Shattered, maybe we had better do something about it across the board before it causes issues with 'game balance' in the other instances."
As for the Vanguard, because a lot of us were so involved in quelling the Marlu conflict, we are much lower on the exp scale. Ifor is only 76 at this point and can offer pretty much zero assistance when it comes to dealing with capped characters.
If anything is to be done it is going to have to come in the form of a new alliance among the already capped characters or something akin to the South Park WoW episode where the GM's show up and hand over the Sword of a Thousand Truths (http://www.wowwiki.com/Sword_of_a_Thousand_Truths_%28South_Park%29).
GM's are not banned from interaction in Shattered, it is just not required. Hell, they were killing us left and right the first few weeks, and for the most part it was entertaining. There is nothing in place that I know of that would prohibit them from joining in the efforts here. Unleash a few dark assassins, hand out some void-proof armor [temp protection of course ;-)] or a list of hundreds of other things. They are a pretty creative lot despite all the grief we have given them over the years.
My digital 2 cents.

Those who are high level and can actually hit Sluntty need to band together. While some have done this, there is little being done to truly go after him. There is a conflict between wanting to be AFK all the time and just level up and actually setting that aside to deal with griefers.
This is Shattered. We all knew that something like this was going to happen in some way. We need to accept that and grief Sluntty like there's no tomorrow or we accept his rule over us and give in to whatever his demands are.
And even still, you can still level up even if he is killing all the time. It will be slower but you can still do it.

I suck at scripting, but here's a suggestion:
Make a script that automatically reports to the LNET when Sluntty or his alts are seen. I can't help kill him, but I'd run that script all daylong.
I'd also be willing to run a kill on sight script if someone would provide one to me. Only problem is that the only time I ever see him is when he becomes visible as a result of casting void.

Make a script that automatically reports to the LNET when Sluntty or his alts are seen.
The Vanguard has one of those for reporting on Vanguard channel, XV-bodyguard.lic. It will need to be modified a bit to work, and I don't have time to do it at the moment. Lines 10 (chat channel) and 11 (names to look for) below will need to be changed.
When running, if you see someone on the KOS list it will kill bigshot, report the room number target was seen and run to town. After 600 seconds it will restart bigshot. If you are killed, it will report what room you died in and who is there.
# XV-Bodyguard
#
# ~Ifor
unless $SAFE == 0
respond "#{script.name} must be trusted to work"
exit
end
send_channel = 'Vanguard'
danger_list = /#{$kos_list}/
restart_bigshot_delay = 600
bigshot_command = 'solo'
# DO NOT EDIT BELOW LINE
bigshot_running = false
loop {
if member = GameObj.pcs.find { |pc| pc.name =~ danger_list }
room = Room.current.id
if member = GameObj.pcs.find { |pc| pc.name =~ danger_list }
if running?('bigshot')
stop_script 'bigshot' if running?('bigshot')
bigshot_running = true
end
stop_script 'go2' if running?('go2')
dothistimeout "stance defensive", 1, /...wait|defensive/ until percentstance >= 80
start_script 'go2', [ 'town', '_disable_confirm_' ]
LNet.send_message(attr={'type'=>'channel', 'channel'=>send_channel}, "XV-BodyGuard: Fleeing from enemey [#{member.name}] #{Room[room].title} (#{room}) - PCS: #{GameObj.pcs.join(', ')} NPCS: #{GameObj.npcs.join(', ')}")
if (bigshot_running)
sleep restart_bigshot_delay
start_script('bigshot', [ bigshot_command ])
end
exit
end
end
if dead?
LNet.send_message(attr={'type'=>'channel', 'channel'=>send_channel}, "XV-BodyGuard: I'm dead in #{Room[room].title} (#{room}) - PCS: #{GameObj.pcs.join(', ')} NPCS: #{GameObj.npcs.join(', ')}")

A void rips open in the area, directly above Tillmen!
Tillmen is sucked into the void!
Rather abrupt decompression causes Tillmen to explode!
Billions and billions of tiny bits of flesh shower everything.
Quite severely dead.

A luminescent aura fades from around Tillmen.
The layer of stone surrounding Tillmen crumbles away.
Tillmen no longer bristles with energy.
Tillmen just arrived. Wait, wasn't he here already?

Tillmen becomes solid again.
The tingling sensation and sense of security leaves Tillmen.
The glowing specks of energy surrounding Tillmen suddenly shoot off in all directions, then quickly fade away.

While I can see the logic of this, you have to ask if it will even do any good. I would be willing to bet that he has irrecoverable death sting already, he obviously does not mind getting killed or pvp in general, and he is thriving on the drama. Feeding into that is probably not going to be a big deterant. Maybe if you could manage some kind of mass ignore. I think if everyone ignored him in game, quit posting about him, and just basically put him on the back burner, he would throw a hissy fit for a while and then go away.

If you are referring to me, that is incorrect. It is not that I don't have time to care about it, there is just nothing I can do. 76th level bard really can't help this situation. I posted the Bodyguard script, that is pretty much the only contribution I can make. If people have other script requests, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can put together.

As stated here I didn't impose anything. Just tried to help out. Which I was repeatedly asked to do so by alot of people I know in game. You don't know what you are talking about.
And now I have been asked by the other players to just ignore him in game. So in response to that I am doing that as well. Unfortunately I am one player and cannot effectively prevent him killing low level characters by myself. If as a collective group the server decides to go at him again I am more than happy to help.
I also have established a safe haven during the crazy times in game if anyone needs a place to rest for healing and spells just contact me in game and I am glad to help.

That is really all that needs to be done. If you need a safe haven in such and such a town. Contact xxxx through Lichnet or the amulet. Here you can rest, get healed, get spells etc etc.... eventually folks will either band together or they will quit. Either way his capped sorcerer just runs around... Not such a good plan since you can't hunt or do anything else if all you are doing is sitting in a safe haven. Guess what, I'm sitting in a safe haven right now... my characters are logged out, he can't touch them that way either, but then I'm not really getting any benefit out of paying Simu to play a game that I can't play.
One way or another something needs to be done about the situation. Removing all death penalties would be a good start if they can't bring themselves to ban one person who is driving away many other paying customers. It's not about QQ, its about not being able to play a game I'm paying for. He's been killing my character off and on for weeks now and I didn't say a word because it was annoying but that was all, now he's making it so that I can't even go hunt.

Um...there aren't a lot of hunting grounds 60+. All it takes is for him to patrol the area. Sorcerer = cross realms transport. Quick and easy patrolling of all hunting areas 60+.
However he doesn't stop there. Now he just goes in naked to the towns and starts killing everyone at the gemshop, locksmith, etc. Oh but wait, your solution is we just don't go there anymore.
Easy fix. Get rid of the justice system so people can retaliate without screwing up their characters too.

No they hunt from where I am at and the locations are never the same so It tailors to all professtions.
People who use bigshot are missing out on the wonders of wander, Wander can really help you avoid alot of other areas you do not want to be in also.
During Marlu times it was very popular to use a seperate avoidance script for marlu members if Durfin wants to post one. Basically it avoids x player and kills bigshot and runs to a safe room waits x amount of time then continues the hunt. IF anyone needs that PM me but i think Durfin had one already.

[Ta'Illistim, Fraendel Var]
Stray moonlight casts a muted, multicolored hue on the granite buildings as a few townsfolk complete their late night tasks along the var. Southward above the rooftops, the tip of a lapis-tiled spire can be seen, with a silver and sapphire pennant waving in the breeze. On this stretch of the var, the roadway seems worn and often used. You also see a young lithe elven priestess and a pebbled walkway.

We have private channel to coordinate attacks. Contact me in game to be added to the channel ,Griefwatch channel established and download X spotter. X spotter is case sensitive and requires trusting.
Everyone should spread out. Move around alot. There are alot of locked rooms you can find in inns. (Even using bigshot) Make Sluntty work so it isnt fun.
Just put in your pre rest commands close door, latch door and in your hunting commands unlatch door, open door.
Your bigshot will easily open and close the door and lock it for you.
Other modes of exp.
Healing using a nervebot or bleedbot. I have bleedbot scripts, glad to share them. I am sure others have nervebot scripts. I will even bleed for you. I can support up to five empaths keeping them fully learning with my bleedbot.
Tfletch and fletching can get you through over 48 hours straight. repo scrtipt Tfletch, Get a hatchet from Tykels and get a knife from the bladestand in solhaven. Put them in your main sack, go to a room with a trash barrel in it and start the script. It will automatically rank you up.
Forging
Gib put up a new forging script on the repo called Autoforge. This script will take you from making the hammer right into mastering every form of weapon. You can forge for a incredible amount of time.
Bounty
Many have been successful with bounties. Spend time setting up bounty. I have spent hours helping people set up there bounty scripts I am willing to continue. Im me.
I would love to see and afk escort script. They exist but no one has released them yet now is time to.
Empaths
Use an anchor script that automatically brings you back to your sancted supernode so people still have a place to get healed. I will write one for you if you need it. Rest inside the Inns and Taverns, voln supernodes and nodes so people still have access to you.
Use the anchor script to run you back to that room automatically if someone trys to stalk and fog you out.
Pointing
Use a pointing script. Where it will point at anyone sneaking into the room you see to avoid being fogged out of a sancted room.
Premie Accts
Use fourwinds to rest. Use it for your town. Hello that extra money your paying can come in handy :)
There are many areas, We need to avoid towns because thats where they are killing and since nothing is being done about it. I and others that actually care about post cap tps and there characters are getting banned when we go in and kill him in town. I already got banished from one town. Others also are trying to kill them all the time but we cannot cause you are in towns.

Dragonflies, damselflies, and bees dance upon the flower-laden winds of a city that is cradled within the trees.
The spray of a nearby waterfall creates a prismatic rainbow in the gentle mists that caress the vibrant foliage near a pebble-edged brook.
Slowly the images fade as the magic begins to unravel.

Jaimaltz received a pardon from Itzel after Pakal showed up in Illy and was playing a rolling the dice game.
He no longer has any deathsting. Justice system has not been fixed at all
I located again today while he was in jail and realized the consultation room I thought i saw him in was actually the courtroom in Illy.
So NO justice fixed. Jaimaltz says he isnt attacking anyone anymore. Also said he understands people will want revenge.
What is this going to do to the future ? Jack shit cause anyone else that feels like capping and just abuse the justice system will do so.

So you just go after everyone to play the roll of the eViL bAd griefer guy or what?
Just cause you tried screwing with the GM last night before he smacked you around and sent you to OTF. I'm curious what motivates you.

You don't get it really. He isn't doing it because people screwed with him on PC or IG. He has been griefing and stealing from people LONG before this thread was created.
He is doing it for a simple reason. He is bored and why the fuck not ruin your game time. It's that simple. He fucked with Deathravin's chars just to see if he would get him to fight back and continues because he knew nothing is going to happen. Until Deathravin started to fight back and bind him. I am sure he specifically targeted those characters originally because he has a bunch of capped ones being more of a challenge for him.
He fucks with everyone elses characters hoping to get myself, pandin, tillmen or others to chase him.
He continues to fuck with lower level characters because most other characters don't do shit to him. He isn't even spelling up or waiting for stats to return, so the excuse of " I am not capped and can't hit him no longer flys."
Sindri killed him and i think he is 30 levels lower than him. If everyone really wants him to go away stand up for yourself and bind the shit out of him, kill him or avoid him so it is no longer fun and rest in a remote place so you are not in a cluster inside of town.
Once we bind him he slams everytime and logs off.

they sigil escape then instantly log. so it's hard to know what room they actually left to
Then they have their empaths that have 213, so they just go back to the room invised, and 213, then they log in and wait for bind to leave...

(10:28:25) Deathravin: He was properly locked down for over 24 hours. Your dog shows up 2 minutes before he logs in, he logs in, your dog kills him, allowing his escape
(10:28:30) Deathravin: I'm not stupid
(10:29:01) Warhammer: i agree with you, i shouldnt have helped him. it was a mistake.

(10:31:02) Deathravin: you did nothing to prevent him from actually gaining OTF.
(10:31:28) Deathravin: and you assist in his escape when I actually DO prevent him from gaining OTF
(10:31:29) Warhammer: as of yesterday morning, he was on the inside. i logged in 30 seconds before he did, crossed over, killed him and made him leave
(10:31:46) Deathravin: what made him leave was ME locking him down
(10:32:07) Warhammer: so he IMed me and is like "if ur supposedly neutral at least kill me once so i can go back"
i obliged - was a mistake. so i'm not going to waste your time arguing when i agree with you. do what you need to do.
(10:32:18) Warhammer: i dont blame you
(10:32:21) Warhammer: im just QQing :)

Sluntty was imploding Jaeden a few times over to prevent him from capping.
I think Jaeden was helping Sluntty to keep Sluntty off his back.
Stupid mistake on Jaedens part. If he gets involved again I think then would be a good time to target him as a group.
But I believe Jaeden once capped will be helping us with Sluntty and not the reverse. I think he is just trying to level and avoid the problem. Once capped though he will need to pick a side or move out the way. I think he knows that.
He is suppose to cap by tommorow. Probally got put behind with the three implodes
