Pretty much. I wouldn't even call the people involved in 9/11 muslims. They were diabolical people that twisted the words of a faith to try to justify their actions. My great-grandfather was in the Army. So was my grandfather, my father, my mother, my step-father and my ex-husband.

None of them were brain washed. They did things they were proud of, and some they were not. Some disobeyed unlawful orders and were proud of it. Some helped reclaim land and save lives, some worked on keeping the equipment running our soldiers need. None were brainwashed.

People from all walks of life are going to have varying viewpoints. It doesn't mean one is right and the other is wrong. The U.S. media is biased in a lot of ways, but it's the exact same way anywhere else in the world. Spend a few hours browsing Aljazeera, and you'll see their version of progaganda. Browse BBC Europe and you can see a difference in opinion compared to the BBC news agency in the U.S.

I tend form my own opinion on both world history and current events by taking all of the above into the equation. Alternative theories are fine, but ultimately it's your opinion. The problem is you're stating your opinion like it is fact.

I'm proud to say we maintained our fortification of truth and no one breached our parameters. and when I say us, I mean occasionally one of my bum friends, or the lone ranger deciding to stop to find out what was inside my "twisted" mind. Thoughtful conversation always ensued, ideas exchanged.. but the point isn't even what my message was, it was that showing dissent is alive and well in this world, and not just dissent against easy things to criticize like religion and traditional morals. This was criticism of the very institutions that pay the most for our obedience.
