View Full Version : Outlaw Lady Gaga

In an interview with Megyn Kelly on Fox News, Sandy Rios, who is the former president of Concerned Women for America, said that Lady Gaga's outrageous new song on the MTV should be outlawed. Rios says there are limits to how much free speech society should tolerate. If you can't shout fire in a theater, then you shouldn't be able to show suggestive videos on the teevee either. Same exact thing.

I'm glad that Rupert Murdoch has decided to use the clout of his network to try to get rid of the exploitation of sexy images to sell merchandise. It's gotten to the point that it's totally outrageous.

And this isn't the first wicked video that Lady Gaga has produced. Her earlier video about homosexual vampires in bondage was just as bad, if not worse.

It should be outlawed because of the way it dresses and its shitty music more than anything.

I'm a music snob. I tend to dislike the pretty faces, the lack of talent, and the false facades that tend to get promoted as entertainment. If a musician/band didn't earn success and learn their craft, then I tend to ignore them. Shallow entertainment for shallow people?

I mean, she's an accomplished songwriter and a talented pianist. And she was admitted to Tisch when she was 17.

Anyway, I didn't really care for her until I heard "Paparazzi." It's a nice tune.

And I watched the Fox News clip in this post (sorry, ClydeR, I generally don't bother). The complainant got wrecked in this one. Good for lols.

I thought the new song was kind of lame, and didn't make much use of Beyonce's talents either. Weak, and I generally like her music, in a pop=fun and isn't expected to have substance sort of way.

I'm sure these make ClydeR froth far more than a girl with a gigantic penis clit.

When Megyn Kelly sounds like the voice of reason in an interview, you know the person she's talking to is batshit insane.

I think she's a wacko but I respect her creativity and free spirit. I don't think she's a very good role model for youth but they're not her intended audience (club scene). And lastly, I don't think she's particularly attractive but I wouldn't turn down an opportunity, provided I get the chance verify she's actually female first. I bet she's a maniac in bed.

I don't think she's a completely awful musician, but her current "style" is definitely not doing her any justice. Her beats are fairly catchy, especially the lounge style ones you can find on Youtube. I'm just not a big fan of pop, but the classical versions where she plays a piano while singing are at least tolerable.

On a side note, I love accoustic versions of songs (even pop). Here's a decent attempt someone did of Paparazzi on an accoutic guitar with no vocals. Click me! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4jr96ioCIg)

Since I posted last month that we should outlaw Lady Ga Ga, at least one school has picked up on my suggestion. More to come, I'm sure.

WHITE HOUSE, Tenn., April 7 (UPI) -- A Tennessee high school student's mother said her son's rights were violated by school officials who made him remove a T-shirt bearing the word "gay."

Julie Gordon of White House said officials at Greenbrier High School violated her 15-year-old son's freedom of speech and expression by sending him home to change out of a T-shirt reading: "I Heart Lady Gay Gay," a play on the name of singer Lady Gaga, WSMV-TV, Nashville, reported Wednesday.

According to WSMV (http://www.wsmv.com/news/23070849/detail.html) in Nashville, the fight over the shirt has turned into a First Amendment issue after Goforth's mother claimed that the school is violating her son's right to free speech by sending him home to change out of the shirt when other kids who wear shirts with religious slogans or Confederate flags aren't treated the same way.

I say this all the time. Falls on deaf ears, no one seems to care that most real musicians will never see 1% of the income she does. A lot of bands that people really enjoyed their one hits also had to go back to work because the industry is a giant scum sucking vacuum, and she is the (manly) face of that old corporate model. Akon is her manager, he is partly to blame as well. Her songs are bad, they sound as if the mid 90's and all those awful Crystal Waters type knockoffs have been resuscitated by another clueless generation. She is a ringtone saleswoman, and also a songwriter for EMI (she writes songs for others). Queen of bullshit really.

It's the talent, not the promo shot.

No, not really. MTV has, since the beginning, always catered to whatever was popular at the time, regardless of whether or not the performers were talented. At no point since the 1940s has musical talent been linked to airtime.

Edit2: oops, I misread TV as MTV. My bad. Either way I still stand by my point that musical (or acting) talent isn't a requisite for airtime, you only need to look good and/or be a trend setter.

If they had outlawed Lady Gaga when I said, then none of this Wikileaks stuff would ever have happened.

It seems the private who allegedly downloaded the huge trove of secret data from military computers in Iraq exploited a loophole that permitted the use of compact disks on secure computers. External hard drive ports were disabled, but Pfc. Bradley E. Manning allegedly spent six months downloading documents onto a CD that he disguised in a Lady Gaga CD case. The Times reports, "He was able to avoid detection not because he kept a poker face, they said, but apparently because he hummed and lip-synched to Lady Gaga songs to make it appear that he was using the classified computer’s CD player to listen to music."
