This is rich. Writing in the Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/08/14/AR2009081401495.html), Rick Perlstein brings up several outrageous past scandals in the United States and implies that current outrage over Obama administration policies is just like past outrage over prior scandals. The problem is that Perlstein says that those past scandals were not real when everybody knows that they were real (except for one).
Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman attempting to make American a Communist country by deliberately surrendering key issues to the Soviets while pretending to be patriotic.
The heretical Greek translation of the Bible that was pushed on unsuspecting Americans in the 1950s by the Soviets, with the implicit consent of Certain People.
Nixon's discovery when he arrived at the White House as the new VP of a secret blueprint to convert America to socialism accidentally left behind by the Democrats.
JFK's secret attempt to disarm the United States during the height of the Cold War while pretending to be adding additional armaments, leading to the 1961 National Indignation Convention in Dallas.

By suggesting that those past scandals were somehow false, Perlstein also suggests that current outrage grows from the "tree of crazy" that has now been watered and is taking over the forest. Shame on him.
