A lot of Republicans want to boycott GM (http://www.thedetroitbureau.com/2009/06/right-wing-threatens-to-launch-boycott-of-%E2%80%9Cgovernment-motors%E2%80%9D/) until the government divests itself of its ownership interest in GM. This is a good cause that we should all get behind.

Will boycotting GM actually help GM?

Not that difficult to boycot any auto manufacturer during times such as these...

my next new car will be a Ford.. I have a number of family members that work there anyway..

I pretty much support them anyway, because they were the only American automaker to make it through without accepting a bailout... I respect that.

I won't buy GM products from past experience. I will stick with Fords as well. I don't think boycotts work well. I remember the gasoline boycott day/week back in what was it 2000-2001? I see how well that worked.
