Obama has not attended church a single time since being sworn in as President. Fox News has been keeping track of it (http://foxforum.blogs.foxnews.com/2009/04/07/sammon_obama_church/). Could it be because he is converting to Judaism?


US President Barack Obama will celebrate Passover Thursday night with staff and friends in what is believed to be the first White House Seder attended by an American president.

The event was slipped onto the president's public schedule Tuesday night with little fanfare, following a letter signed by Obama earlier in the day wishing Americans who mark the day a "peaceful and relaxing holiday."

While presidential proclamations in honor of Passover have been common throughout the administrations of George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, this year's Seder is believed to be the first of its kind.

Since he campaigned as a Christian, I don't think it would be proper for him to become a Jew. That would be like campaigning as a Republican and then converting to a Democrat, except that it would be worse than that.

Non story. In big cities, many non-Jews are invited to attend Seder with their Jewish friends. I'm Catholic, and I get a couple of invites every year...

My church hosted a Seder, back when I used to go.

One time I went to the Hillel Foundation on campus for a free trip to Israel. They invited a small group of students in a room and we sat down and they started going around in a circle asking us what's our favorite Jewish childhood memory. I was in a pickle; I'm not Jewish. I cannot remember what I said. Needless to say, I didn't get the trip to Israel. But apparently my mom did start getting curious news letters from the Hillel Foundation. It was only years later when I told her this story that she knew to blame me :D
