I'm no enemy to the environment. I garden organically, I grow as much of my own food as possible. I fully support alt energy, and plan to put both windmills and solar panels on my next house. I recycle, everything I can, and try to get my city to do more.
But man, I HATE environmental activists who really are just socialist/communist activists in disguise.
I was just doing some work and ran across this site:
http://www.coopamerica.org/pubs/greenpages/screening.cfm
I cannot stand the tie in of "social responsibility" which means whatever the person wants it to, and in this case means "wants socialism" with environmental responsibility. Creative capitalism will save the environment, not nitwit hippies.
Just read that page, its fucking scary that people would have the audacity to be so fucking blatant with their agenda. Its fucking creepy as hell, especially because that kind of attitude isn't uncommon anymore. For all the nitwits who called Bush orwellian, I don't most of them actually read 1984.
I was also reading an organic gardening site and they had an "alert" about the "Employee "Free" Choice Act." WTF, seriously, are you a pro union boss and corruption site, or a gardening site? You think they're related, at all? Do you give a shit about gardening at all or do you just use the environment as a scare tactic to push your bullshit socialist agenda you fucking manbearpig?
(tangentially: Union bosses are the slickest fuckers ever aren't they? They've got all these people convinced that if only more people were paying them union dues the world would be a better place, and nah, secret ballots aren't necessary).
Unfortunately, we all know there are millions of impressionable young people out there (see last election) who will read that taking away private ballots in union elections is good for the environment and believe it because they'd too sheeple to think for themselves.
