View Full Version : Obama says, "¡Si se puede!"

Obama made statements in Spanish (http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gMjhEKCfsHlvUrB9Xe5OqqoeyAxQD9761N3O3) to a music awards show on the Univision teevee channel. America is an English speaking nation. It's not proper for the president to act like some second-rate Canadian prime minister who makes speeches in two languages.

Obama is a second rate president, so why not?

Whoever is the cockmongering dickmitten behind ClydeR is doing a good job of riling up folks.

I fear someone will forcibly facefuck him with a train - which might not be a bad thing.

At any rate, jesus titty fucking christ, he's got a lot of time on his hands.

Okay I'll take the bait: Bush was supposed to be our 'first' Spanish-speaking president, and did mangle that language, too, from time-to-time.

What do you think ClydeR? Still unpatriotic? sometimes it is considered polite to exchange pleasantries with foreign speakers in their language...

....again I ask, why are people responding to ClydeR like he's a real person?

Excellent, excellent comment, Holocene. It's obvious that you have a good head on your shoulders. The difference is that Bush spoke Spanish only when he was trying to get votes. When Bush stumbled to the end of his remarks in Spanish, the mariachi band would always start up. Mexicans like to vote for people who can repeat Spanish words and exhibit an understanding of their culture the way Bush did with that mariachi thing. Bush never, never actually promoted the interests of Mexicans in America. But Obama is speaking Spanish already in just the first few days of his presidency when it's a long time until an election. That, I think you can now see, is what makes it so dangerous.
