Wisely departing from the tradition of his more timid vice-presidential predecessors, Cheney gave a charged political interview within the first four years of leaving office. In the interview, Cheney warned that without continuation of the harsh interrogation techniques authorized by President Bush, this country will suffer a biological or nuclear attack from terrorists.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney warned that there is a “high probability” that terrorists will attempt a catastrophic nuclear or biological attack in coming years, and said he fears the Obama administration’s policies will make it more likely the attempt will succeed.
In an interview Tuesday with Politico, Cheney unyieldingly defended the Bush administration’s support for the Guantanamo Bay prison and coercive interrogation of terrorism suspects.
And he asserted that President Obama will either backtrack on his stated intentions to end those policies or put the country at risk in ways more severe than most Americans — and, he charged, many members of Obama’s own team — understand.

I fully agree with Cheney. As I've said before in this forum, I think we have to torture people suspected of having information about possible terrorist activities, as long as they're foreigners and not American citizens.
Now that Cheney has made his view public, if there is another terrorist attack like the ones in the past (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Terrorist_incidents_in_the_United_States) , then those of us who support making the hard choices necessary to keep the country safe will be able to say I told you so.
Cheney said that he's going to write a book about it.
