When Martin went down in flames to a Chambliss landslide in GA, the potential for a Senate Super majority was largely flushed down the shitter by general media.

There's just a few problems with writing this off .... even now.

1. MN still hasn't been decided with 188 votes separating Coleman and Frankin. At the very least, there are 1500 ballots to be reviewed and 1500 absentee ballots being challenged by Coleman. While Coleman is in the courts trying to toss out absentee votes ... he's also lawyering up over potential corruption (http://www.startribune.com/politics/national/senate/36206844.html?cache=n&uccb=1229404334) charges.

2. Lieberman.

The reality that the GOP may lose the utilization of an unfettered filibuster still looms.

Uhh....that gets you to 59. Not 60.

But Franken is probably going to win. He's only down by 5 votes at the moment, and there's still one more day of Coleman challenges left to go. Plus the absentee ballot situation favors Franken.

You're right ... The map I had displayed both independents as dems. Thus I counted Lieberman twice.

Doesn't mean, a rep won't cross party lines. They just need 1....

For a filibuster? Its not exactly a hard issue to decide on...all in favor of making this asshole shut up, aye. If the other party is filibustering you and you dont back your party you might as well switch parties while your at it.
