It's harder not to laugh at his misfortune than it is to not feel bad for him.

They tried to play it off like the world leaders didnt want to shake his hand but it looked more to me like he didn't want to shake any of their hands. Whatever that means.

yeah, um, pretty sure he didn't extend his hand to shake. that's either a big "fuck you" to everyone, or he realized that they didn't want to shake his hand?

either that or he had just jerked off and was being considerate.

Watch the video again, and Bush's body language. He looks up trying to make eye contact with just about all of the other leaders there and they all turn away just as he does.

He wanted to shake their hands. They were already looking at the next guy down the line.

I don't think he wanted to shake hands at all. It looked like he didn't even want to be there. Like "aww fuck i gotta take a picture with these douchebags? lets hurry this up".

I think it was hm not wanting to shake anyones hand. A few of the people he didn't even look at, he just walked by.

Looks to me like he just wanted to move along and get the photo-op done with.

Maybe he was sick? I refuse to shake people's hands when I'm sick, I don't want to get them sick if I have said germs from coughing in my palm to be transmitted.

But it does look funny that no one wants to shake his hand...

CNN’s Jeanne Moos investigates the video making rounds on the internet, The Daily Show, and even CNN itself. It purports to show President Bush being “snubbed” at the G20 meeting because he’s not shaking hands with world leaders while the other leaders are. Jon Stewart mocked it and the lefty blogosphere ran with it. CNN’s own Rick Sanchez played the video and remarked that it was as if Bush had “cooties” and amounted Bush to a bully who deserved the treatment.

Turns out, Bush had spent a great deal of time earlier at the conference shaking hands with every single leader, even patting some on the back. They were very cordial and some even greeted each other on a first name-basis. Bush wasn’t “snubbed” at all.

---------

Credit CNN for stomping on their own Rick Sanchez, who reported that George Bush had … “cooties” at the G20 meeting. It turns out that Sanchez didn’t bother to actually check out the details of the reception, which Jeanne Moos did after Sanchez’ report went viral yesterday:

Bush didn’t get snubbed at all, it turns out. He had already greeted most of these leaders, including a number of photo ops that Moos includes in this report. The handshakes we see in Sanchez’ clip occurred with leaders who had not already met for a grip-and-grin before the group shot.

Hey, even Angela Merkel posed with Bush and smiled while he grabbed her hand … and only her hand. Silvio Berlusconi held Bush’s hand as they strolled off the dais. Everyone seemed cheery around Bush, even with the economy diving into a teacup this week.

So where does this leave Rick Sanchez? How does a show host recover from having his own network rip apart his reporting as puerile and uninformed? Move to MS-NBC, where those qualities have value?

Wow, you actually stood up for him =p

Anyway, not sure if those links showed it or not, but the reason they were all going back in line is to do a reshoot of a photo because the Peruvian Prime minister showed up late.

Everyone who hadn't introduced themselves to one another took that oppurtunity to do so.

It makes a better story if we think he was being snubbed.

I dunno. In any photo op for politics it's just good practice to make yourself look chummy for the cameras, even if he did already greet them.

It's possible these explanations are the case because he does sort of act like he's just wanting to get it over with, but other parts of his body language suggest that he was looking for handshakes (namely trying to make eye contact with people as he walked). I think it's possible that the explanations are just sort of spin after the fact.
